We just finished an 8400 mile trip through the U.S. And By far this restaurant got our highest rating. Not only was Our food great - buffalo hot dip & palace hamburger - But the service was spot on - the music in the background Didn't compete with our conversation and the location Of other table guest was spread appropriately... We had breakfast there two times during our visit to Deadwood. The food was great, with large portions. The waitstaff was very efficient and always friendly. We want to give out a special thanks to Gator. He helped us with making a plan for two days of exploring the area. We followed his suggestions and had a couple of days... More

We had decided to eat here for dinner on a Friday night. I had the chicken and my boyfriend had the ribs. Both were very delicious. The waitress and staff was very nice and very attentive. The next morning we had decided to have their breakfast, the food was good but the waitress was busy with "returning customers" so we... More

We stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed. My wife had the rib eye salad and I had the rib eye sandwich. Both were cooked perfectly with an incredible seasoning. The steak was tender and good sized portions. Quite reasonably priced also. My sandwich was under $11. Great service.

We are frequent Deadwood travelers but hadn't eaten at the Gem Steakhouse in recent memory. The restaurant is conveniently located on the 2nd floor of the Mineral Palace hotel and casino on the main strip downtown and is a very good place to eat. My husband had the shrimp dinner - they were huge and delicious. I had the BBQ... More

Overall very good place to eat. We ate there late afternoon and were able to eat off the lunch menu at lower rates. Service was great and menu had plenty of options for our family. The GEM has an interesting history in Deadwood and if you have seen the HBO series you will remember the story.

I ate there on a weekday evening. It was not busy at all (almost no people in town). The service was prompt and friendly. The food was very good. The amount of food served was more than I could eat. All parts of the dinner were tasty and of high quality. The price was about average for what was offered.... More
