About an hour from Charleston or Hilton Head, and you can choose the scenic side roads including right past the gorgeous Whitehall Plantation. Great Saturday excursion and a rustic, interesting spot once you arrive. Down home hospitality, with very friendly staff. We were there with 2 large parties and apparently on "steak night" you should order steak. We ordered chicken... More

The building was opened as a Chevrolet dealership in the 1930"s. Harold Peeples purchased it in 1975 and opened a garage and gas station. When the six or seven couples that dined together every Thursday night needed a bigger space, Harold and the guys would move the cars aside and cook pot luck and everyone threw $5 in the hat.... The staff is very nice. Place is laid back with the bar up front and small and large dining rooms in the back. Food is cooked to order so there is a bit of a wait. The food is delicious. Not fancy, but filling. Now off to the bar for some dancing to the DJ. Fun night.

Just finished another great Saturday night visit to Yemassee, SC landmark, Harold's Country Club. This place is always a real shot in the arm for a wonderful ribeye steak dinner with friends. Afterwards cold beer and cocktails while listening to a fine local country/rock band. Say hello to Ronald and his crew and take in some of the most interesting... More

Had our first visit last week but won't be our last. Established by the rumored originator of fried turkey, Harold's Country Club is one of those establishments that makes the United Stated a great place to live. Come hungry as giant steaks are the Saturday special with two seatings at 6:50 and 8 Local sights to experience are the Old... More

Repeat visit to Harold's CC. It really hasn't changed outwardly since it opened in the seventies. Except now it run by the grandchildren, Open Wed-Sat. This was a Friday visit and there is a small menu. The steak sliders were oven done. All the other food was very good. The shrimp were very tasty and the cat fish fillets outstanding.... More

To say Harold's looks like a dump is to slander many dump, but the food is simple, tasty and plentiful, and the patrons friendly. Worth a try.

We love coming on Thursday nights for dinner, the staff is always friendly and the food is always good! They also have really great steak night! And I can guarantee that you will never find the same things twice on the walls when you go in!

My husband loves this place but I think it's overrated. You have to call to reserve your steak, tell them how you want it cooked and when you arrive stand in line as they dish out pre-cooked meat from large, unappealing metal containers. Then you make your way to the "salad bar" such as it is. Iceberg lettuce and oldish... More

$18 gets a 16-18oz perfectly cooked and well seasoned ribeye, baked potato, salad bar, homeade rolls, 2 sides and dessert! The steak was delicious and it is obvious the folks who run Harold's know what they are doing. Ease into a spot at the bar and enjoy $3 longnecks and some great conversation with the folks who live in the... More
