You get what you pay for here. The meals are very expensive but they are also very good. I took my wife her for our anniversary and they had a musician playing classical acoustic guitar which was very romantic. It was the bill that we got that killed the mood, nevertheless we enjoyed the food and ambiance.

Had a super lunch at Hampton's! Met a friend for chat and food. Lots of choices & waiter suggested Cuban sandwich which turned out to be quite good - not quite like in Tampa but good! Waiter was excellent, impressed that let us take time to order and never tried to hurry us out.

Hamptons is a beautiful, well appointed, incredible gem located in a small southern town. Chef was courted by the owners to leave the Inn at Little Washington to open this fabulous restaurant. Chef does the most incredible, creative recipes with steak, duck, seafood, and farm fresh vegetables from the restaurants own garden. The staff is wonderful, friendly, knowledgable, efficient. Hampton's is one of three fine dining restaurants in the area, and while it has virtually no atmosphere the food, though expensive, is supposed to be good, however we have really never been satisfied with the package. Service is mediocre at best, with a hint of we are doing you a favor to wait on you. The food was OK,... More

The last time we were at Hamptons my husband commented, as we were leaving, we need to eat here more often. When I received my meal it was a feast for the eyes, so many bits and nibbles of various types of food all coming together in a rich harmony. Half the time I wasn't sure what things were, but... Loved their quiche and fruit. Interestingly they have options to sweeten your tea - simple syrup, raw and white sugar cubes. Our waiter needs to be better trained. Business lunch with no tea refills and no checking on our food until we were done. Took us asking for our bill before we got it some time later and then he... More

Interesting brunch, unusual sauce on eggs Benedict but was ok, definitely need to upgrade the coffee, very light, maybe a problem with the brewer. "Hash browns" were fried, literally, service was good, need to upgrade the food.

We are world travelers and foodies. This place is simply one of the best restaurants anywhere!!! In Sumter SC!! The chef pairs the finest ingredients (think Allen Bros steaks, Berkshire Pork, fresh Grouper, real sushi grade Ahi) and then adds five star presentations. The wine list is adequate especially given this very small town. If you want some of the... More

Been several times. Food is good, but service is most definitely spotty. Lunch time offers more affordable options, but worse service. Dinner will easily cost $80-$100 with soup or salad and dessert per person. Add in a drink or two, will be over $100. However, servers are still slower than average, especially considering how much you are paying for a... More

We were traveling back from Northern Virginia and looking for the half way point for a stop over. Google does great things, including the suggestion that Sumter SC is half way between DC and Orlando. We booked a hotel in this tiny town, had little expectations on what to find in terms of dining - and surprise - Hamptons Restaurant,... More
