With barbecue in their name, they only served pulled pork (which you poured your own sauce on) & ribs. My wife & I both were expecting much more. The whole buffet was no very big at all. The buildings were dated but had a nice nostalgic feel though. However, the floors are not consistent in level ness so watch your... More

They have an interesting website but the buffet was of poor quality. The chicken was so so and the building has major problems on the handicap ramp - needs repair.

Go early to lunch so you don't get the end of the pans in the buffet, have realistic expectations. The greens are good, fried chicken is great, everything is cooked on site from scratch, including the mac and cheese. This is authentic food, not Cracker Barrel so relax and enjoy the experience.

This visit which was one of many was disappointing. The ambiance is the same with memorabilia from the past in a collection of several older buildings. One hour before closing the buffet was not very well replenished with fried chicken being very sparse. The choices were much slimmer than in the past. NO shrimp & grits, banana pudding, or tomato... Quirky, which we enjoyed, but the lunch buffet we had was so-so, and a bit expensive. It might be better if there had been a different buffet selection, but not for us.

We were traveling back home to North Carolina after a brief visit to Savannah Georgia. My husband and I were hungry and debating which chain restaurant to stop at for a quick dinner. Somehow we stumbled upon the lone star and took the chance on an unknown entity. Boy are we glad we did! The decor and presentation of local... More

Low Country charm, great food and a good price. The night we were there, a couple performed blue grass music and it was fantastic. Well worth a stop just to take in the spectacle and enjoy the food.

Awesome food and cool atmosphere. Step back in time into this converted general store to enjoy down home treats such as collard greens,. cobbler, fried chicken. hush puppies, pork barbecue and more. Our waitress and cashier also rolled out a big helping of southern hospitality as well. This place is a little bit off 95 but worth the trip.

Excellent ribs, my favorite. The tomatoe pie and sweet potato casserole are to die for.... Love the atmosphere, almost like a museum.

We stopped here with four kids 20 mo-14 and two adults. The food was delicious and fresh and the service was great. Plus it was only $55 with tip! The store is super cute and there was a live band.
