Great menu selection using local ingredients. Friendly, courteous staff with a nice dining atmosphere. Our server was most helpful with our selections. The home made bread was a hit and the Key Lime Pie was fabulous.

You would have to go a long way to enjoy your self in eating and atmosphere that the Fat Hen offers. May have to wait a little but has always been worth the wait. Many choices to enjoy!

Nothing is lacking at Fat Hen. The food was extraordinary...I had the crabcakes and mussells. The service was great too. It is not inexpensive, but I really felt like I got my money's worth. I highly recommend the Fat Hen.

Had a great first visit for Sunday brunch. Creme brûlée French toast with sausage . Wonderful flavors. Fresh ingredients . Homemade sausage patties. Seems like they make their own mustard and hot sauce . Very unique flavors. Will definitely return

Thank you for dining with us for brunch and for your nice review. We use ingredients as fresh and local as possible and do make our sausage in house, as well as hot sauce. Please come by for dinner soon!

From steamed mussels to crab cakes and shrimp with homemade pasta—each dish was prepared exceptionally. The wait staff were attentive. A wonderful eating experience.

Stopped while on the way to Kiawah for brunch. Love shrimp and grits but don’t order it here. Supposed to have a Tasso gravy base with peppers. There was one sliver of red pepper, a few shrimp and little flavor. The portion size even offered...More

We really enjoyed our visit a few weeks ago. Our server, Libby was great and I had the BEST mussels I've ever tasted. My Lady had an excellently prepared salmon. The meal was preceded by two terrific dirty Martinis.

Not thrilled with dinner, I think they may have changed the chef. However, brunch was absolutely fabulous. We live on the island and will definitely be back!

Description
Chef Fred Neuville is excited to embark on his first solo venture. "With Fat Hen, I am striving to create a neighborhood restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and signature French-inspired Southern cuisine," he says. "Johns Island is a fast-growing area and I believe island residents - along with others from around Charleston - will appreciate what we have to offer." Fat Hen's main dishes center around innovative French classics with Low country flourishes, sourced from the finest local produce farmers. The Braised Chicken features locally raised free-range chicken braised in red wine with rich bacon lardons, root vegetables & mushrooms. Fat Hen's Short Rib, a favorite signature dish among family and friends, is braised for hours in a rich veal broth.
