Small older diner on Hampton St in Columbia,SC. Real home cooked food on a budget. 3 veggies and 1 meat deal. Better and quieter than Lizard's Thicket. Friendly staff. You can smell the food cooking while you wait.

In September Debbie with Nathan's Restaurant catered a dinner party of 50 people for me. She prepared a classic Southern Buffet with fried chicken, BBQ and a variety of sides, desserts and beverages. The food was wonderful and plentiful. Debbie went out of her way to take care of my guests with special dietary needs. It was a pleasure to... More

I've been coming to Nathan's since it opened It's family owned and delicious! I used to come more often when I worked downtown. Serving Breakfast and Lunch, you can get in and out pretty quick when needed. While it's mostly meat and three, there's great Sandwiches and other items as well. My favorite is the Fried Chicken... this is the... More

I come here 3 to 4 times a year, in my opinion it is a great, small, fairly priced, great food, good service, quick (generally speaking ) place to eat. They serve southern style cooking with great desserts (if not sold out). Notice not excellent but very good, until today I went for lunch but I tried their breakfast today... More

I had the baked chicken, potato salad, collard greens and butter beans. Everything was very good and not over seasoned. The place is small, quaint and eclectic. A really good place for a traditional southern lunch downtown.

We went here for breakfast on a Friday morning on the recommendation of a colleague and it did not disappoint! I had scrambled eggs, bacon & french toast. The french toast was homemade and some of the best I've ever had! The staff was friendly and the service was great. The place reminds me of an old school diner. Very... More

This place has amazing Southern comfort food. Better than Lizard's Thicket or Cracker Barrel, this meat and three restaurant is on Hampton Street in downtown Columbia. It was created and still is run by a local hard working family and they are really good people. You may not recognize the establishment as a restaurant from the outside, as it is... More

Very very small portions. Also they don't advertise prices and will change prices on you from week to week..... Owner doesn't need to be in this business.... If I go again I 'll take a Pic of these ridiculous small portions...

Nathan’s is one of the most inconspicuous restaurants in Columbia. This quirky little restaurant is located in a re-purposed pharmacy building and situated at an intersection where no restaurant should logically belong. I’d wager that most motorists wouldn’t recognize that it’s a restaurant even while staring straight at it. This place isn’t just off the beaten path; it’s pretty much... More
