My husband and I have been going to Al Di La for years now and I have been meaning to write a review. We love this restaurant. The food is consistent, the service is great (best that it's ever been lately!) and it's just a nice, comfortable place to go for a relaxing meal. The tomato basil soup is absolutely... More

After a long day we wanted a tasty but nearby spot and this restaurant fit the bill. I craved mussels and the menu had them so there we went. The price was right, the food excellent and yet an 'everyman' ambience. We sat on the patio and the street noise from Magnolia did not interfere. There is valet parking although... More

We revisited Al Di La after maybe a year. My wife & I; late afternoon dinner. Early enough that we were able to get a great gable and enjoy quiet conversation before the busy hour. Our server Ceceley was a charmer and we enjoyed chatting with her, too, though later on she (and the other server) would have to run... More

Restaurant is in trendy West Ashley just outside of Charleston. It has a nice outdoor seating area, we kept wondering if we had made the right choice to eat inside. The menu is not huge (around 6 dishes each for antipasti, prime, and seconds) but all items were very appetizing. We shared mussels and the famous gnocchi as appetizers, both... More

We have been here a number of times, but we were partially disappointed on a recent visit. One of our party had pasta, which was terrific as usual. But the other special entrees (one veal and one seafood) were just average. Lesson to us is to stick with the pasta, and we'll be happy.

The wife and I had a late lunch in their outdoor patio. Service was slow since the only server had to handle inside and out as well as the bar. We had our Yorkie with us and that was great. The food was good , but not outstanding. We had two appetizers ( the chicken liver pate plate and an... More

My family and I were visiting other family in Charleston, and they recommended this place. It was not very crowded early on a weeknight, so we were seated quickly at our reserved table. The service was great. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with a background soundtrack of piano jazz standards. The cocktails were good and there was an extensive and... More

Delightful place, a bit noisy, but fun and friendly. Located in the Avondale area and less than ten minutes from downtown. Valet parking. Great, usually Northern Italian fare. Excellent panini at lunch.

A combination of convenience to where we were staying (we do not live in Charleston) and prior reviews on OT & TA led us to this restaurant . We were also influenced by Restaurant Week and selected our food from that menu. The choices were more than adequate. The quality & quantity of food was mixed. Portions were small. The... More

I had the Gnocci, my wife had the fettucine bolognese, and my daughter had chicken parmesan, all three dishes were awesome because of the various Italian sauces the cook put on the dishes. The secret is truly in having a good cooked meal and then the Italian sauces put these plates over the top. Right up there with Bricco Bracco,... More
