Food was so-so. Shrimp & Grits were not the best I've ever had- very bland & not enough shrimp. Service was not great.

Great trendy spot to experience. Even had adjacent parking which is rare in that area. We were there for Sunday brunch. Service was very good. A bit on the noisy side, but what popular spots aren't. The food however, was a disappointment. We felt the meals fell way short of expectations and reputation. Perhaps the kitchen staff had just too... More
I really liked my sandwich - the pimento BLT - but was less satisfied with the options. I wish I could have had been able to choose more diverse sides. I also wish there were a few more options to choose from in general! The food was really amazing for me and my boyfriend - he had the fried chicken... More
Very disappointing meal at Poogan's Porch. The food was extremely salty. When asked by the server "How is everything?" We answered honestly. The reaction? The server basically walked away; no offer to bring anything else, no adjustment to the bill, no word with the manager....nothing. Food details: She Crab soup was bland and too thick. Fried chicken was very good,... More
I have been living in Charleston for 7 months, and this is the best meal I've had to date. We did a Sunday brunch and it was amazing. The atmosphere is timeless, the location is ideal, the service was top notch, and the food was amazing! Try the pimento cheese fritters. I had chicken and waffles and my friend had... More
Pimento & Cheese seems to be as big of an item as grits in Charleston. We had a most interesting and delicious pairing on our visit to Poogan's this year...pimento & cheese stuffed ravioli topped by seared scallops. If it's on the menu the day you stop by, I highly recommend it.
We enjoyed Sunday brunch at Poogan's Porch. I appreciate they were able to accommodate us before our scheduled reservation. I had the chicken and waffles, they were delicious! My boyfriend got the BLT and it was good too. The home fries cooked in duck fat were crispy and wonderful. They provide fresh biscuits while waiting on your food. We had... More
The title says it all. It was hands down the best Crab Cakes Benedict I have ever eaten. And I've tried quite a few. I can't even remember how everything else was because I was so fixated on the crab cakes! Great setting to as it is a converted old historic 2 story house on the peninsula. Love it!
Whenever we have dined here we have never been disappointe3d. Service, ambiance, presentation, meals and value are ALWAYS GREAT!

Original owner was Bob Greathouse, my brother. After Bob retired to Florida with his wife Judy, I believe
he left the restaurant to his daughter. Does she still run the place? Thank you for your time and I look forward
to your reply.
We are interested in coming this month for lunch. We have a 7 year old behaved child. Is your restaurant child friendly for a Saturday lunch?
How soon do you recommend making reservations before arrival? Can a fireplace table request be accomodated?
