Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great restaurant with phenomenal food and service. Although after inquiring it seemed my main course would not be too spicy for me, it was. I was just going to grin and bear it when our server insisted on bringing the manager to us. My entree...was remade with sides that were delicious. And I was given a bowl of fabulous butternut squash bisque while my meal was being prepared. The tilefish was terrific. What a wonderful restaurant.More

Absolutely wonderful experience! We went for a family birthday with a large group and the staff was so accommodating. They made it a restaurant experience that we all never forget!

Very disappointed. I had the worst she crab soup I've ever tasted and shrimp and grits was mostly rice and chunks of pork. The one standout was the beef carpaccio. Other entrees were solid. Also didn't like the impatient server.

This restaurant met my expectations for an upscale yet not "snooty" place. The waiter was most helpful yet didn't hover. The food was divine. I can't say enough. I left the restaurant feeling better than when I came in.

This was a great choice for lunch and spending a little time with friends. The restaurant is very close to both token parking and sheltered parking (which really helped). The food was very well prepared and the service was better than impeccable - servers and...host were helpful and surprising...I made a comment about the grits and she provided me with both the chef's recipe for the dish AND the local purveyor of the grits. We had: a) shrimp and grits - with a mild broth, tomatoes, and thin matchstick slices of country ham = Delicious; and b) a perfectly prepared swordfish steak with braised and seasoned kale; and c) a side of braised collard greens that had a hint of sugar and vinegar. The price was way below what we expected - will defintely return and you should too. Hats off to the chef and to the staff - amazing jobs.More

S.N.O.B. was a great meal for all four of us: the butternut squash soup, the Swordfish, the BBQ Shrimp, the Flounder, even the sides and the desserts, so much so that we didn't mind the $44 price tag on the fish, and if it weren't...for the disastrous Espresso Martini, everything would have been perfect.More

Was there on Valentine’s Day so there was a limited, prix-fixe menu. This was problematic in that I usually don’t get a dessert; we were not informed of the prix-fixe until the day before so it was way too late to get a table elsewhere...(booo). Steamed clams appetizer was delicious and I had grouper for entree - well prepared. The chocolate pot-de-crème dessert that was pushed a little too hard, maybe was a slight disappointment. But the real shame was my dessert wine, chosen by me because it was unusual but it was not very special and it really should be, for $39. So I think I will not go there again for a prix-fixe night.More

Had lunch here and it was awesome. My wife had the butternut squash soup and she thought it was the best she had ever had. I had the Reuben and it was delicious. We love these two items and pretty much order them anytime we...find them on the menu. So it is not trivial for us to say they were both exceptional good. We highly recommend.More

Incredible food and ambiance, top notch service. The cream of crab soup was the best I’ve had. My husband’s butternut squash soup was a close second. I had a stuffed chicken breast with carrot ginger puree and asparagus that was absolutely delicious. My husband’s stake...and frites was amazing - our server said the feta that comes on the roasted potatoes has been ranked the best in the world. I’ve not tried all of the feta in the world but so far, she’s not lying. Do not miss SNOB!More

Great fun spot for a group Dinner. The atmosphere is lively and waiter was very attentive . I know there is a lot of great restaurants in Charleston but we decided on this because it was walking distance from our Hotel. The food was good...but nothing really special.More

When we are walking in Charleston we always are looking for new places to try. In a city with restaurants everywhere it can be hard to find the best ones to go to. We have always been intrigued by S.N.O.B. And finally made it there...for dinner. We had a reservation but still had to wait a while for a table. The place was very busy and the meal was an event. It seemed like a nicer restaurant with a nicer atmosphere but there were lots of loud kids when we were there. I understand, we have kids but with a night out without them, this was not ideal. The food was all very good. I ordered the swordfish and my wife had the pork chop. The pork chop won as it as one of the best we have ever had.More

My husband and I couldn’t decide on lunch at SNOB as several items sounded great. We ended up selecting the Rueben Sandwich and the Ham (with a fried green tomato and pimento cheese) Sandwich and shared. They both were delicious! The meats are smoked/prepared in-house....The service was excellent. We highly recommend Slightly North of Broad.More

What a fantastic experience! We had an excellent waiter, why? Because he never interupted a conversation, allowed us to take our time with each course, didn't rush to clear plates. Didn't try to upsell...Paulie was wonderful! We started out with a cocktail, while we looked...over the menu. We began our food orgy with Beef Carpaccio and CArolina Apple Salad...Complimentary bread with butter. Each were plentiful. We continued our food journey with Triggerfish and the Flounder special with all the fixin's...The portions were amazing, temperature just right, we could hardly finish....We unfortunately could not even think about dessert, which was a disappointment. The restaurant has a calm vibe, soft lighting and very relaxing...Would highly recommend.More

It's 8:00 on a Friday night and we snagged a table for 2 without a reservation!! Pardon my excitement, but it's tough to eat anywhere downtown without a reservation anymore. I loved the atmosphere right away. It was dimly lit, but not too dark; it...was lively, but not too loud; it was nice but not formal. There was a duo playing at the bar that was very enjoyable. The service was great and each person was very friendly. We started with drinks. I had a caramel apple mule, but it tasted more like a watered-down old-fashioned and my husband had a craft beer. For dinner we had the pork chop, brussels sprouts and the scallops. All were very good. I know this is Charleston but the scallops entree was 3 large scallops on a bed of rice for $44. ugh. At any rate, it was an enjoyable experience and I'd go back.More

There were lots of people dressed very casual. I, too, was dressed in shorts and a polo. No problem.
