We were lucky to have our hotel recommend this place. This restaurant is a nice blend of good atmosphere and excellent food. We had lunch, and if I had it to do over again, we would have gone back for dinner. Don't miss this one when you are in Charleston.

This is a seafood restaurant. The menu offers a mixture of fried and other preparations on very fresh seafood. The service is marvelous. You can have your entree prepared almost any way you can think of. All good. I also love their salads, especially the goat cheese beet salad. Their key lime pie and brownie desserts are very good. Great house oysters, expertly shucked, river clams were superb. She crab soup first rate without extraneous ingredients. Tuna tacos first rate, fried local flounder an unexpected treat! Good glass of house rose. All in all, a find!

The outside looked inviting, went inside and got a table immediately even though it was very busy. The food was very good and every detail made the meal very enjoyable. Will go there again with more members of our family.

Our family of nine made a reservation for a Friday night and they had no issues getting us seated on time. The overall decor of the restaurant is very nice. The waiter we had was awesome and he was very knowledgeable about the local foods, beers, etc. Our first course was an oyster shooter, very tasty. We then ordered four... More

Amen Street is a great little restaurant for some seafood. It's certainly among the top places I've been to in Charleston. We had a creamy shrimp orzo and it was rich and delicious and also a grill sword fish that was equally good. We'd go back, but we must march on in search of more great Charleston dining experiences. Of course this was our first stop in Charleston because of the great memories we both had of our last trip to visit the city of food. We ordered four appetizers, 2 draft beers, and two plain vodkas with cranberry. We knew we wanted a cup of She Crab sour, then we ordered the Hushpuppies, Shrimp Corndogs, and blackened shrimp.... Evening downtown walk and wife would not leave and board the plane back to Wisconsin the next morning without having tried a cup of She-Crab soup while in Charleston. Business looks good...lots and lots of people. Sat at the bar...bartender graciously served us our soup. Very rich, very good. Wife was hoping for more "meat" in her soup, probably because... More

My husband and I stopped here on our Bloody Mary and App Crawl through downtown Charleston. One of the better bloodys I sampled. We also shared the Amen sampler which was chilled perfectly and had some interesting sauces and sides. The shrimp and mussels were really good, clams and oysters were nice, too. We through this was a great place... More

Busy place due to location. Good for Oysters and beer selection. Do not recommend the fried green tomatoes.

Description
Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.
