Monks Corner Cafe Now Closed we were informed and there is no plan to reopen. It is a definite loss to the community. We enjoyed many a great hamburger plate, best anywhere in our area. Many times met friends from as far away as 20 miles having lunch here. Best wishes to Monk...sorry to see you close your restaurant.

I have had cheeseburgers from Monk's (Sonny's), most of my life. I use his burgers as a benchmark to compare others against. The cafe' is located in an old house, so don't let looks deceive you. I send visitors there to try the best burgers in the world often. There are other chain stores around, like Five Guys, that come... More

One waitress for 50 seats but there were only about 15 folks in cafe at time of my visit. Took about 10 minutes to be waited on and another 20 to get food. Hamburger and fried corn on cob were very good. Onion rings seemed to be frozen variety. Tea was average. Price was not bad ($10). They seem petty... More

The best hamburgers I had in a long time. It was very tasted and large. They give you a lot of fries . It's a small mom and pop cafe. The food was great .

Used to be my all time favorite. I got the last burger they sold at the old location. They keep getting a dryer. Can be good if Monk is cooking. If the other cooks are on duty it's hit or miss. They have also started nickel and diming you. 50 cents for a glass of water? Really the $10 burger... More

Love their Burgers!! If that is what you want, it sure beats the fast food establishments! Fries were just average. The service is good, can get waited on if you are in a hurry!

I've been in the area for a few years now and have sampled burgers from well known chains to hole in the wall places. This place takes the cake. A friend told me about it so a bunch of us from work went and the burgers were incredible. When I frist started going there the place was a little empty.... More

I am not a fried food fan, but this place does it so good, I make an exception. Simple foods fried just right. The best sweet onion hushpuppies I have had since I was a kid, and the best fried flounder around. Good coleslaw, and for something different, try the fried cob corn. Burgers and other fare are on the... More
