Interesting building and nice setting, BUT, average food and service. The menu is heavy on an Indian flavor, which is fine if you want Indian. We were looking for steak and seafood, so a little disappointing. We had Indian spiced Salmon. The side dishes were creative but when I asked if one could be substituted for another, I was told,... I must have eaten at the DeWolf Tavern a dozen times in the last several years. We also had our office Christmas dinners here in the last 2 years, so I know the place and am very familiar with their cuisine. The food at the Dewolf Tavern was always good, the service was invariably hit and miss. However, yesterday night... More

Extremely disappointing. We had lunch here a few years ago, and though not inspired, the food was good, competent, perfectly serviceable. So, we thought, let's return with the family, a group of 6, to celebrate our son's graduation from Roger Williams University. Um, bad choice. When I made the reservation I was led to believe that the place would be... More

I went here with a group for a friends birthday. We ate in the lounge area and put the tables together. Having worked in the restaurant industry I know that this isn't often an ideal situation. But I never would have known that by the service. The server was attentive, took all of our orders by memory AND got them... More

DeWolf Tavern - the name gives the impression of steaks, burgers, chops. But investigating the menu posted outside revealed many Indian-influenced dishes - which turned off my spouse. But we tried it anyway. The interior is old warehouse fare with history - exposed stone, beams. Cozy downstairs (entry level) with a full bar, booths, high top tables....and during nicer weather,... The food was delicious, but not what you would expect from a place with "Tavern" in the name. The dishes were eclectic and somewhat Indian-fusion. If you are looking for a steak and potatoes kind of place, this is not it!

We ate here twice for dinner and once for a full breakfast. First, we LOVED the historic atmosphere of this tavern. Not only does the interior reflect its original early 19th origin, but there was a quiet and leisurely pace to the evening that fostered conversation, a rarity in our fast-paced techno world. The food was excellent as well--perfect portion... More

This was my first time at DeWolfe's Tavern in Bristol, RI and I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting to go to a restaurant with the usual offerings of meat, fish, poultry, and pasta - boring, as the same old same old. The menu offers quite a variety of the above but with quite a twist in the use of... More

Went here with another couple and used a Groupon. Was expecting a lesser service because of the Groupon but was very surprised with excellent service. Even though the menue was limited for the Groupon special the 3 choices were injoyed by all of us. Every thing tasted fresh and was presented like a 5 star dish. We never felt rushed... More
