Not in the best area, but this is the best hot dog you'll ever have. If you're passing through Wilkesbarre, make sure to visit here.
Gary at Abe's makes the best hot dogs in the country. I fly in from Palms Springs to visit and take a dozen back to California with me. My husband refuses to pick me up at the airport if I don't have Abe's hot dogs in my suitcase!
My favorite for over 80 years! I have been served the best chili dogs in my life by 3 generations of the Druby family. A trip to PA would not be complete without enjoying two with everything and a chocolate milk at the South Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA family restaurant. One of the owners is always working the grill in... More
Drove to Wilkes-Barre with my aunt to see childhood places and haunts. While driving to find an old movie house (Bucket of Blood, don't know real name) saw Abes Hot Dogs. My aunt who is 79 remembered it as a girl from living in Wilkes-Barre. So we went in and ate. What a great place. Of course, it had been... More
I was travelling through the area and found Abe's hot dogs on Trip Advisor. I exited the interstate and found Abe's in the old downtown area. I passed Abe's once because I was unsure where to park. Don't let the location deter you from stopping here. The hot dogs were extremely flavorful and loved the chili sauce!! The hamburgers are... More
Everyone in the Wyoming Valley has their favorite hotdog spot. This, hands down, is mine. Simple, fast and delicious. The flavors are perfectly complementary... And the best chili to top off the dogs ( you have to get em wit everything -mustard, onions and chili). Been going for years and will continue to.
There was a time I had no problems in the neighborhood. Time has taken its toll but not on the food. Breakfast and lunch were good staff established and know what is expected, good food. Served hot off the grill. Nothing fancy here, who needs fancy just good.
Abe's hotdogs arguably are the best hotdogs in the Northeast. Their sauce is outstanding. The prices are very reasonable. Worth the trip if you are from out of town and if you're local you can not get enough of them.
