Good Mexican food and good drinks. It is tucked away in market square and can be hard to find but the food is really good. I have heard from co workers that the margaritas are great. Just make sure you dont need to drive afterward as they pack quite the punch.

This is not good Mexican food. It is what many northern people have come to expect to be Mexican. There is good Mexican food in Pittsburgh, but this is not it. Service is severely lacking too. I don't recommend this place.

Celebrated husband's birthday with our adult children. I had the shrimp tacos with house salad and rice - piled it on the soft shell taco - very good. Had a basic margarita - think it was a mix but it was good. Son had a specialty margarita with a small bottle of Cointreau - really, really good. Son and daughter... More

The food was actually quite nice. No complaints there. The 2nd story view over Market Square is nice. The place is usually pretty busy, so that should tell you they are doing something right. I went there twice. When we sat at the bar, service was good, we enjoyed a nice lunch. When I went the next time we sat... More

Great view of Market Square (it's on the 2nd floor) and great value for quick, friendly service, great drink menu and casual atmosphere. Fresh-made Mexican food with enough choices to please a group and some of the largest cocktail glasses we have seen!

Recently my wife and I, along with another couple, went to PPG Place to see the skating rink, Christmas tree, and other holiday sights at PPG Place. While there, because we had an Enjoy Book coupon, we ate at Las Velas, which is on the second floor of a building, overlooking a portion of PPG place. Since it was a... More

I did not have great expectations for this place based on reviews, but if you are looking for a solid Mexican restaurant with good ambiance, good drinks that is fun for friends, this is the place. The queso and chips are delicious, margaritas were well concocted, and all our dinners including fajitas, chile relenjo, and Mexican specialty dishes were excellent.... More
