My SO and I enjoyed Sun penang as our date night one evening. We got three different types of dumplings, one soup each and fried calamari. The fried calamari wasn't anything to write home about although the batter coating was light, fluffy and salty which was notable. The soups were good and we ate about half of our dumplings which... We had a very good time at Sun Penang. Not a big fan of Chinese cuisine, but I thought the dishes we chose had lots of flavor and were very well done. We ordered a variety of dumplings as well as entrees with different proteins. We were fully satisfied by the end of the meal. I initially thought the service... More

The regular Chinese food is a little better than average, but you can step it up by asking for the "Tea Garden egg roll." The Tea Garden was an established Pittsburgh Chinese restaurant back in the Cantonese restaurant days, but had the world's best egg rolls -- all pork and shrimp with a few pieces of water chestnut. Sun Penang... More

We ordered food for takeout. They delivered it on time. It was all in one bag so that was nice. A lot of the food looked microwaved. We got the teriyaki, pork soup dumplings, Thai iced tea, a coke, egg drop soup and rice and it was around $40. Not a favorite. I wouldn't recommend it. The dumplings were probably... More

We had a variety of small dishes: shrimp dumplings, shrimp rice rolls, stuffed eggplant and spring rolls. Everything was good--nothing was bad--but I wouldn't say the tastes popped out at all. They did have some sauces that gave a good zip to the food and that helped. The tea pot was full of hot water with one tea bag in... More

Small dim sum restaurant in the city, the interior is nice and updated but limited seats. The first time I came here was on Saturday, the dim sums were freshly made, it was constantly busy when we came for lunch. Today I came back for lunch (Friday), one of the dim sums that I ordered, sesame dim sum balls were... More

All dimsums are great. You may be there during your brunch and have some dimsum. Shrimp shumei is good, as well as beancurd skin roll. If you have some room left, try Hainanese chicken with yellow rice. Delish!

We came with party of 4. Because we didn't know the names and what is what, we ordered randomly 12 different things and tried each of it. It was fun and interesting but nothing particular stick in memory. After being here don't know what i liked most. Maybe too many dishes, maybe didn't pay attention to names. only remember that... We decided to try this restaurant because of their extensive dim sum menu. You order from the menu and they bring out the dishes one or two at a time, so that there's always food on the table. I miss the dim sum restaurants in Chinatown restaurants in other cities where the dim sum dishes are rolled around on carts.... More

This place was one of few restaurants that reportedly serves dim sum. It is located on Forbes Avenue just east of Murray, and there is a convenient parking place around the corner. The name indicates the restaurant serves Malaysian food, but we came on Sunday to try dim sum. Our server was very nice; she apologized for the long wait.... More
