From the minute we were seated, this place had a strange feel. The interior was underwhelming and gives the impression of not being very new or clean. The noise level was much higher than I would have expected from a nicer restaurant. The menu suffers from downtown pricing without downtown quality or interest. It reminded me of how Olive Garden... That was unexpected. I thought NOLA stands for New Orleans Louisana and was confused. Last time I checked I was in Pittsburgh , East Coast. The place would seemlessly fit on Bourbon street in New Orleans ! Food was great , too. I tried a couple of daily specials and they were all excellent seafood items at a very reasonable... More

I usually only make it here about once or twice a year, and am never disappointed. Some of the best fried green tomatoes I have ever had. A very New Orleans-centric menu, even down to the drink choices. When you are here, be a little adventurous and try something you wouldn't normally eat or drink. You won't be disappointed.

Four of us dined here on an extremely busy Saturday night. The Penguins had a home game then and the Steelers hosted the Dallas Cowboys the next afternoon. We made reservations a week before going to Pittsburgh. That made a difference because they had a table ready while walk-ins were waiting. Live Jazz provided entertainment. We were in a dining... I came to Pittsburgh on a business trip and found NOLA on the square - I will say that the staff is super friendly and just wonderful! By far, the absolute BEST fried green tomatoes I have ever had. Absolutely fantastic! The alligator - not so much. I also ordered the chicken and dumplings but must say I was very... More

Nola has excellent bar staff. I ate the French onion soup and had a perfect cosmopolitan. Would visit again just for a nice beverage.

OMG...love the place, the atmosphere and the food. The band that was playing--0Don Aliquo-Rodger Ryan Band--was FANTASTIC and gave ambiance to the restaurant. Our waitress, Ashley, was worth a weight in gold--great at food and wine suggestion. If you are a martini lover, you must have the Cajun Martini---mmm good. for the food, she suggested the Crispy Alligator Tails--the best... More

We were in Pittsburgh on business and had read about Nola on the Square and wanted some beloved NOLA cuisine. We had reservations for 6:30 and were seated immediately. This was over Halloween weekend and all of the staff had dressed up and the restaurant tastefully decorated. Our waiter was Sherlock Holmes but he should have dressed as the scarecrow... More

We came to the square on a Saturday night. We stopped in at Nola's for dinner and some good jazz. Inside the restaurant has a very warm and inviting atmosphere. The night was nice so we decided to sit outside on the patio. A great choice, lots of people out and about in the square made for fun people watching.... More
