This is a hunting lodge-style diner, reminiscent of those in northern Michigan. Memorabilia and a wonderful stone fireplace cozy up the place. Food is good (we had lunch) but all the normal side items were an extra fee (for burgs, sandwiches) and a burg with fries/coleslaw was a $4.50 upcharge on a $7 burger - a bit much IMHO-four folks... Went here based on reviewing the menu. The reality was that for the most part it was average food with too much deep fried foods. E.g. fried scallops, fried shrimp, fried pickles, soggy french fries though the curly ones were OK, fried fish... Dessert was bland. Salad was average though the ranch dressing that they made there was good.

I live around the area and wanted to try some local restaurants for a good value and good food. This was the first stop. I came for breakfast. The pancakes were near-perfect, though a small bit undercooked. Bacon was sizzling, juicy, and delicious. If you live around the area, or coming from out-of-town, I highly suggest Restless Oaks and I... More

If your looking for a rustic setting and a fireplace in the dining room, with that warm cozy feeling this is the place. Food good, limited menu with reasonable family pricing. We always go back.

My grandmother lives in the area, so every time I visit her from NC, she wants to go to this place. I never cared for their food, but she said they have good clam chowder on fridays and she also likes their fish sandwich. So, I took her on Friday and of course they did not have clam chowder (which... More

Not good service. Not good food. Undercooked food. Cold food. Place was not busy. Try anywhere else.

I stopped here while traveling on business through Pennsylvania. The men you had lots of great choices. The staff was friendly courteous and prompt. And the food was just excellent. The prices were in line with lunch expectations.

Was told this was a good place to eat, it was......OK! It is a log restaurant, the logs were very dusty. The one nice thing is they had a real fire in the fireplace on this cold windy day. Too bad they don't clean better. The food was just OK. I don't know why when the one person only orders... More

Reservation for private dining area for anniversary, 65 years of marriage for our parents. Everything was wonderful, very good food, everyone ordered from menu to get their personal preferences. Kids menu for great grandchildren, quiet comfortable atmosphere with a Great fast, friendly, sweet waitress that was able to anticipate your needs before you asked. Appreciate such a fine comfortable restaurant... More

The soups, steaks, burgers are all excellent but I would not recommend the haddock. What I had they called a tavern haddock was nothing more than a large Gortons breaded fish, not the fresh breaded fish I expect from a good restaurant
