It seems a regular hangout for locals. We saw several cars pulling up for takeout. The bar and pool room were about half full and loud at 6 pm. The dining room reminded me of a setting for Cub Scout pot luck dinners, complete with a piano, fireplace, and box full of well worn games. The grain mill across the... More

You may see the historic Kempton hotel as you travel through the area among the beautiful sights and views of the area and drive by but trust me when I say, you need to stop in. The restaurant has a slight smoke smell and a divey appeal but the food and service is worth the stop. Our waiter was also... More

The area around Kempton is all great riding, especially coming in or leaving via Hawk Mountain. This is not fine dining or a destination in itself, but worth swinging by. Friendly service, an interesting story about the ceiling painting and Willy Nelson. If you find yourself in the area, drop on by.

Excellent food with good portions at a decent price. Service was excellent! A little run down however the food and the painted ceiling more than made up for it. The porch is a great place to hang out and watch cars go by. Thank you to the server and chef working at lunch on July 25th!

Great little find, takes you back to a time of country inns with good friends and a place where everyone knows your name. Food is good, great bar, nice updates like the ladies room. Stop in for a good time!

Was a customer here in the 80's and loved it. The place was nicely decorated, food was great with good service. Went in the late 90's expecting the same but the place had taken quite a down turn. The interior was the same but that's it. Food and service were no where near what they had been. Decides to give... More

Had oyster soup that tasted like water and lunch that was just awful. Mashed potatoes were instant and gravy from a can.

I initend no disrespect, but tha tIS NOT a picture of the Kempton Hotel. They have pretty good food and I like the bar, but it doesn't look like that picture. It looks much more like the Stoney run Hotel.

We were spending the day in the area, going apple picking, hiking at Hawk Mtn; not sure where to get breakfast on a Sunday at 9am, we happened upon this wonderful old hotel restaurant. First of all - the place was rich in atmosphere. "Straight out of The Deer Hunter," said my husband. Murals painted on the ceiling depicting (in... More

Food can be very good at times; depends on the day of the week and the amount of business. No major complaints; portions are very large; dining room is near the bar.
