Stayed at mollymook just to go to the restaurant. The waiters were very good, seamless in every way. The food was well cooked but overpriced. I had the Singapore chilli blue swimmer crab which had way too much sauce and made a huge mess of the tablecloth, It would have been nice to have a new one put down afterwards.... More

My husband and I had a late lunch here on Saturday 13th for my 30th Birthday. From start to finish the whole experience was 10 out of 10. We were seated out on the balcony and were able to enjoy the sunny day and beautiful view along with our meal. We shared the Warm Shellfish for the entree and lapped... More

We were really looking forward to this evening’s offerings. Being pumped up by the reception staff about the amazing food, the expectations were high. Unfortunately we really thought the whole experience was just ordinary and couple of dishes being almost inedible. Does anyone taste the dish before it is served? Staff were casual, service sloppy, limited knowledge of the menu.... More

We stayed at Bannisters and dined at Rick Stein's both nights. Wonderful, inventive, satisfying menu. We went for a self-styled degustation made up of entrees (which are somewhat addictive). It's not a cheap night out, but it is memorable. Surprising flavour combinations prompt smiles and conversation - it's a special spot for special occasions.

It's hard to put into words how amazing this restaurant is. My partner and I have both agreed the meal we had was the best we've ever eaten in our lives. We would have no hesitation in driving from Sydney to Mollymook just to eat here again. The seafood was out of this world and so fresh and even the... More

We had a fantastic dinner. The food was better than we had anticipated and the service top notch. Our waiter really looked after us. Next time we will come for lunch to experience the view and ambience in daylight hours.

I have wanted to come to this restaurant for a very long time and I finally got the chance. What a mind blowing experience. After being seated we were handed a menu designed for the fussiest food person on earth - me. It was so difficult as everything on the there sounded delicious. We dined at the restaurant over 2... My wife (who's birthday it was) plus my sister in law and her partner and myself were taken to lunch (sister in laws shout) at Bannister's for a celebratory lunch. I have not been here before but have heard of this restaurant many times. This is a bit of an up market affair but it was a special occasion. First... More

We dined with another couple at this restaurant as we were staying at Bannisters pavilion. For entree I had a mixture of the oysters which were delicious, fresh and tasty. My husband had beetroot cured Salmon which he loved. For mains I had grilled snapper with Laksa noodles, which was very tasty but I probably would have preferred it with... More

Description
Our restaurant is a reflection of Rick's passion for seafood and the coastal lifestyle which he has enjoyed for most of his life. As he says: "nothing is so exhilarating as fresh fish, simply cooked". He believes that fresh seafood should speak for itself. While he enjoys occasional fine dining, his food is much more about what he really likes to eat: a plate of Clyde River oysters, a pot of Illawarra prawns with mayonnaise, a mound of spanner crab, a slice of blue eye or a perfectly grilled sand whiting. We like our service to be informal but observant and enjoy employing local people who may lack the total polish of fine dining restaurants, but who more than make up for it with a genuine welcome.Peter Bacon, General Manager
