We booked a table for 11 for a Sunday lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our group included 3 children and two puppies. The food was great and extremely good value for money and our waiter was more than happy to fill my puppy's water bowl.

Visited with 5 friends for a Sunday Roast. Excellent quality and very tasty. The trimmings were just as good as the meat, and we had ample portions. Great Yorkshire puddings, savoy cabbage, roast beetroot, spuds amongst other things. Starters were all very tasty, as well as the desserts which some just about had room for. Being affiliated with the local... More

We enjoyed Sunday lunch and had excellent food and service. Ambience is more cafe than gastro pub but the food was lovely. Beautiful views. The Ham Croquettes starter were generous as was the Roast Beef main. Beef cooked medium thankfully not well done as so many roast beefs are unless you go fine dining. Meat was tender and roast potatoes... More

A perfect lunch. Great service. Fantastic views. Amazing food. Watched the chef bring up a bucket of fresh seaweed from the beach which we were eating 20 minutes later. Had raw oysters for the first time and they were amazing with chilli, gherkin etc. Had a beautiful steak and of course the local Rock beer, Doombar.

It's been a long time since I have been so appalled by an eating-out experience. I had high hopes and expectations of The Mariners, but the time we spent there was beyond underwhelming. We were the only people there for lunch (never a good sign), and yet it took fifty minutes for our chargrilled sticky chicken and peanut salads to... More

Staying in Rock for a few days. As the Mariners Arms is a short stroll away & dog friendly we decided to pop in for Sunday Lunch yesterday. Wow, so glad we did! As soon as we walked in the bar staff where so friendly. We found a body table in the window with a breathtaking view across the Canel... More

Travelling by ferry from Padstow to Rock we started in bright sunshine and by the time we had walked a short distance the heavens opened. Fortunately we were outside the Mariners Rock and a quick jog we were safely in a warm and friendly pub. Serving a locally brewed ale, Doombar, it was as if the gods had guided us... More

After having had a couple of successful visits to the Fish Kitchen I booked a table at the Mariners to celebrate my Mums birthday and wasn't disappointed. I booked and amended the table booking on line, easy and painless. Arrived at the appointed time and although fairly busy the staff were very friendly, polite and efficient. The food was well... Today was cold and blustery, the stretch of water between Rock and Padstow an unappealing grey colour, the wind skipping along the shallows spreading gloom. Luckily for us, though, we had booked in for lunch at Mariners Rock. The restaurant is on the top floor, and a lively pub area sits below, frequented by very happy, relaxed locals. The atmosphere... Had a cracking Sunday lunch here. Muddy boot and dog friendly, which is always good after a long walk. Service was food, beer was good, food was good. Large tasty starter, plentiful Sunday roast, all well cooked. 3 courses for around £25 i seem to remember, so good value too! Lovely view over the water to Padstow. Recommended.
