Visited this place as we usually do whilst staying down in Cornwall. Situated overlooking the bay and beach of Crantock in West Pentire, signposted out of Newquay from the main road towards Perranporth. Always very good service from friendly staff members. Lots of nooks and crannies to sit in, also shows Sky TV for those that like football, sport etc.... More

Self catering holiday most of our dinners were eaten here, great selection of food at reasonable prices, it also caters well for children with their own play area (which you don't see a lot in pubs these days unless it's a wacky warehouse ) Beach is about 15 mins away walking along coastal path or 5 mins in the car... We visit Crantock most years and have visited the Bogie for drinks only until last week when we chose to have our evening meal there. We ordered meals for 4 people and it did raise alarm bells when the food was on our table within 5 minutes! Everything was microwaved, soggy quiche, skinny gammon (defo not an 8 oz steak)... More

Lots of fingers prints and dirty marks. Food ok if I was getting from a burger van , cheap products. And not dog friendly. Needs a good... More

We've visited the Bowgie several times; largely so that I can have their spinach, ricotta & feta quiche! However today was extremely disappointing - my quiche was half the size of previous visits & pretty awful & my husband's lasagne was small & tasteless! I will come back to Crantock for the amazing view, but will give the Bowgie a... More

We visited with our dog for tea in june. We were told we could only sit outside with our dog which was ok as it wasnt too cold. Ordered our food at the bar and paid over the odds for soft drinks. Food came and it was nothing special, just your usual frozen chips etc very bland. Didnt stay for... More

Ten years ago they had the best Crab Cakes in Cornwall. Today we had a half a plate of chips, half a plate of stumpy salad, and perched on top were two of the smallest card cakes ever seen. They were approximately 7 cm dia. and 0.9 cm thick. When you took away the coating you had a crab paste... More

Had lunch here day before New Years Eve after walk from Holywell Bay. It really is an average pub trading on the stunning location and views they have. Being in Cornwall I really find it hard to understand when local produce is not used. This is massed produced, piled high basic food. My drinks glass was covered in lip stains... More
