Enormous scone baked this morning with loose leaf tea and good cake. Nice tea room. Service good and central location.

My sister-in-law and I visited last weekend and decided to sit out for lunch in the sun as it was uncharacteristically warm and we wanted to take advantage of the nice weather. The tea rooms have a lovely area at the back so we chose a table in the sun and placed our order. The food was really lovely; I... More

Called in for mid morning drink but having had no breakfast couldn't resist crumpets and tea cake. Other people were still having breakfast items which looked really good eggs on toast etc. Tea was excellent very hot water in stainless steel pots with teabag in one . Cups and saucers on table . Coffee from filter machine on side counter... More

My wife and I called in here for a bite to eat on the hot sunny Saturday that we've just had. We sat at a table and the young waiter asked if we were ready to order to which we asked if we could have 5 minutes. He came back to take the order and then said he didn't think... More

Wonderful rarebit , sausage and mash and cakes. Coffee good, staff attentive and pleasant and a lovely warm atmosphere. You must try the homemade lemon meringue it was melt in the mouth. Looking forward to the return trip.

We have just had a short break in Hebden Bridge and visited this tea room twice. The first time we had a snack meal plus a home made scone both of which were excellent. The second visit we had a main meal we both chose the lambs liver - it was superb. The staff are very friendly and the service... More

Tea was great but the scones were not - very large and served warm ( we were not asked and did not expect warm) which meant that the already very soft butter pats were soaked into the scone and this is not how l like them - why were we not asked hot or cold? I also like a bit... More

Dear Reviewer Thank you for taking the time to post a review following your recent visit to Watergate Tea Rooms. I am sorry that you had a disappointing experience. Our large scones are generally very popular. They are usually served warm and I regret that we were not aware that you would have preferred cold butter which could easily have... More

Stopped here for morning tea. Would recommend the Earl Grey tea loaf. Great views of the river and the mill wheel with lots of local history information around the cafe.

Have visited here many times, for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea, and more recently the tapas evenings that they have introduced. Always good, no matter what and beautifully situated next to the stream. Was one of our mums favourites
