My niece took me and my sister there when we visited, and I can't stop thinking about how right this restaurant is. Even before we got there, I was impressed to hear that they have a "farm to table" philosophy and are 70% sustainable. My niece ordered the spiralized zucchini as an appetizer and there were so many we took... More

Nestled in a beautiful location, this charming restaurant provides high-quality food. The wide variety, excellent service, and comfortable environment provide a special treat option for most budgets. Butternut squash ravioli is my go-to choice. It is always excellent! This time, however, I treated myself to oysters on the half-shell and sea bass. What a catch! Exceptional presentation and delicious meal.

This restaurant deserves every accolade it has always received. The quality of the food is top-notch. Service is always good. My only issue with this restaurant is the tiny restroom but that would never keep me from dining there. In the fall, I just love the butternut squash ravioli. We recently attended a wedding rehearsal dinner there and the appetizers... More

So I was craving turtle soup and we were in the area so we stopped by Pines Tavern. Our waitress was on point. My turtle soup not so much. I remember it having a lot more flavor. And it was giving off this cinnamon or allspice aroma. I have never had a sweet turtle soup. I did not complain. Everyone... More

The brussel sprouts arrived completely burnt. They were horrible. I can't believe they would even serve them. Had to reorder. 2nd one came out better. Service was awful and that is an understatement. The waiter ruined the entire experience. We probably could have overlooked some of the issues if the service had been even a C rating. Be careful ordering... More

We dined at The Pines Tavern last night for my mother's birthday. The food was very good but the service was lacking. Our food did not all come out together. Apparently my wife's food did not get fired at the same time as ours. My Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner was delicious. Water, drinks, and bussing if the table... More

With a more rural destination you would expect it to be worth the drive. Maybe in it's hay day it was worth it, however, Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas have excellent restaurants. When I was there recently the dining room was filled with groups of women celebrating the holiday season. I had the special quiche with soup and a bignet... More

Besides being a great restaurant for a couple, Pines Tavern should be on your list as a fine choice for private parties. We attended a function to a medium size group (20 - 25) and were seated in a beautiful private room. The service and food were outstanding.

Excellent food and service on a Tuesday night. What a great local hangout for loyal regulars and visitors. Seasonal dishes prepared well.

We ate here for a large family dinner. The room was very well decorated, the lighting perfect, and our waiter could not be more attentive! We started with the brussel sprout appetizer - which was to die for! Really excellent. I had the beef dish, which was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were out of this world! My dinner...
