I have been shopping at the Bird in Hand Bake shop for years and stop there multiple times when I am in the area. This Amish and Mennonite run bake shop sells the most delicious cookies, bread, cakes, pies and other baked goods that I have ever tasted! In addition to the baked goods, the store also sells locally made... More

All of choices from the Bird-in-Hand Bakery were very delicious. Had Shoo Fly Pie, Whoopie Pie, and pumpkin ice cream. Not very friendly to a low carb diet, but deliciously worth the occasional sacrifice. Could spend days and a whole paycheck enjoying all the wares. Thankfully I only had time to spend two days in the area, otherwise I would... More

This was my 1st time visiting Pennsylvania. Very beautiful place. I chose Friday after Thanksgiving to site see, not sure of where we would go. While driving in Bird n Hand we saw a sign for the Bake Shop. So here we go to find it & am I glad we did. It's not far off the main road. They... More

Beautiful country setting. Delicious home made ice cream! Became too crowded when two bus trips arrived.

Bird-in-Hand Bake Shop was a disappointment. We went out of our way specifically to go to this location as we were told it was a true Amish experience. Well, maybe it was once, but it isn't now. It's really a tourist trap. Avoid if you are not into the commonplace tourist gift shop experience with a limited selection of baked... More

Wow. Stopped by on our last day visiting. This place is crazy. They have so many different sweets. Every kind of pie, cookies, woopie pies, ice cream, so many things. We bought sticky buns, amazing by the way. And two pies, one blueberry and one Apple. They were both very yummy. We still have a couple slices left but they... More

While exploring this area we stopped at this bakery for fresh shoofly pie! There were pies, cakes, breads, ice cream, just among a few things. While here we found several locals purchasing their goods during a weekday to avoid the tourists. Handmade yumminess.

We ended up at the Bird-in-Hand Bake Shop by mistake, but I am so glad we did. The pretzels are the best pretzels we have ever had. We could not believe how good they were. We also had the apple dumpling with homemade vanilla ice cream and it was very good. There was a nice area to sit outside and... More
