This was my 1st time visiting Pennsylvania. Very beautiful place. I chose Friday after Thanksgiving to site see, not sure of where we would go. While driving in Bird n Hand we saw a sign for the Bake Shop. So here we go to find it & am I glad we did. It's not far off the main road. They... More

Beautiful country setting. Delicious home made ice cream! Became too crowded when two bus trips arrived.

Bird-in-Hand Bake Shop was a disappointment. We went out of our way specifically to go to this location as we were told it was a true Amish experience. Well, maybe it was once, but it isn't now. It's really a tourist trap. Avoid if you are not into the commonplace tourist gift shop experience with a limited selection of baked... More

Wow. Stopped by on our last day visiting. This place is crazy. They have so many different sweets. Every kind of pie, cookies, woopie pies, ice cream, so many things. We bought sticky buns, amazing by the way. And two pies, one blueberry and one Apple. They were both very yummy. We still have a couple slices left but they... More

While exploring this area we stopped at this bakery for fresh shoofly pie! There were pies, cakes, breads, ice cream, just among a few things. While here we found several locals purchasing their goods during a weekday to avoid the tourists. Handmade yumminess.

We ended up at the Bird-in-Hand Bake Shop by mistake, but I am so glad we did. The pretzels are the best pretzels we have ever had. We could not believe how good they were. We also had the apple dumpling with homemade vanilla ice cream and it was very good. There was a nice area to sit outside and... More

This lovely spot on Gibbons Road is wonderful. Delicious pies, cakes and cookies, plus some hand crafts as well as the usual tourist goods are next to a beautiful stone house. Everything is immaculate. Goats are in a pen close by to pet and feed (the food costs). Play equipment for human 'kids' too. But the best thing is the... More

They offer crafts, gifts and the best homemade breads, cakes, cookies, etc. We always stop in for their fresh cinnamon buns. They also have a little petting zoo and picnic tables.
