Probably the most rude and undeserved poor treatment I've ever had at a bar. I'm speechless. I've been coming to Koya for years and knowing that the food and service is hit and miss but I've never had someone be so rude at any restaurant...Ever! I can no longer recommend this place to others. Sorry guys, you blew it for the last time.More

Our family loves stopping through Welches on our way up the mountain for hiking or skiing, and our favorite stop is Koya Kitchen! Excellent food, vegetarian/vegan friendly with lots of options. We usually get the sushi rolls, but this last time we stopped by we...opted to try the ramen instead and dine in. We saw they had expanded their outdoor dining area into a warm, woodsy wonderland with camp fires and many beautiful dining coves for distanced dining. The perfect way to get in just a little more wooded mountain time before heading home.More

I was driving back home from Lake Timothy and spotted this place on the way home. I loved the atmosphere outside and the music and my rib eye steak sandwich was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended and taking a friend tonight. One of my new favorite...spots. I love finding these gems.More

As a local, I have visited Koya Kitchen 4 times over the past 2 years. In 3 of the 4 cases, the entrees were not just nutritional but an adventure in great taste. Koya Kitchen provides selections badly needed here. On the other hand, the...cuisine and libations are undercut by uneven service and attitude which mirrors the confusing layout of the place which is a product of the gymnastic efforts to accommodate State and County regulations and policies. One time, the manager/owner and entourage couldn't have been more engaging, friendly, and informative in the best sense. Another time, staff and management seemed to receive my presence as invisible. Another time in this very small place, I showed up before closing, and advised that I was hungry for their food, I was asked to briefly wait for waitstaff to check on something. After 20-25 minutes , I enquired and was told, "oh sorry about that, we're already closed and can't prepare anything." This is not ok. The only other comment I would make is that the price for meals is a little on the high end but on a good day, I'll tough it out. Koya Kitchen is a neat enclave with tasty nutritious Asian food. But to earn a better score than maybe 2-3 stars or a net C, they need to do some emergency work on the rough edges as to service and remember that they are a restaurant rather than a venue for inner circle cult members (at times). The truly fine food and drinks has to be accompanied by a more consistent dining experience and attitude.More

Tried this place as it looked quaint and nice in our drive from Portland to mt hood. We stopped in but had a terrible experience. The service was lousy, staff was rude and food did not taste fresh and was overpriced. The yaki noodles were...over cooked and way to much sauce. The sushi was not fresh and overall, very poor. Looking for great food and a much friendlier staff, head to al forno ferruzza up the road about 5-10 min towards mt hood.More

This is a food cart in the woods on the south side of highway 26 with a small dining room and a huge outdoor eating area. There are picnic tables plus a kids play area. The play area is an open air log cabin. Everyone...had a great time and the food is excellent. Kids loved the ramen. Our guest from Japan loved the food as well. You have the normal limits of a cart-sized kitchen.More

It would be easy to be put off by the looks of this place, but the food is really good. The menu is not as large as other spots, but what they have is really good. I had pot stickers and vegetable tempura and my...husband had sushi. Several people came in and ordered drinks from the surprisingly extensive bar, with a friendly server/owner so I am sure she has your drink of choice.More

A real surprise to find authentic Japanese udon in a place like Welches ,Oregon. We have returned many times since buying a place in the area. The restaurant has a food truck where the food is prepared. Inside is a saki bar. The food is...very good and besides the Japanese choices sometimes they have Indian curries as well .More
