Being locals we support our businesses and are delighted for dine-in options again. We walked over to the Altitude and ordered off their dinner menu. An option included a steak dinner with mashed potatoes, soup/salad, asparagus and a berry cobbler. There were no prices on...the menu - we should have asked and didn't. Our bad ☹️ Two appetizer options jalapeño poppers or mozzarella sticks. We ordered the mozzarella sticks. Pre-frozen, coated and microwaved. Steak dinner = 6 ounce sirloin cooked to order, 5 asparagus stalks, powdery tasting, like instant, mashed potatoes (bland, dry, gray). Salad so/so. Salmon as a side Vs the dinner with salad. The steak dinner was a whopping $50.00 -- this is not a fine-dining restaurant in Portland or Seattle. Naively we assumed the steak dinner would be in the $30 range. The berry cobbler consisted of a stale shortcake with a single sliced strawberry spooned over the top with strawberry juice and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The total bill with beverages was north of $100. We we shocked. The plus side, the service from Brenna was pleasant.. Attentive, polite and professional. We did not give feedback to Brenna or the management, We left feeling disappointed and insulted with food quality, quantity and the prices paid for a dismal dining experience. Star rating for food 1.5 Service 5 Our feedback will be in the form of not returning. If you do choose to eat at Altitude - ask for prices. Stick with the burger unless you want breaded, microwaved fish/chips or chicken strips/fries. We understand and sympathize with the challenge restaurants are facing but are not in favor of price gouging to make up for lost profits. The food was marginal. The Laurelhurst Market offers a full prime-rib diner for two for $79. We'll head there this weekend. If you're in the Mt Hood area, opt for Pub26 near HWY 26 on Welches Road. Good food. Very reasonably priced.More

I don't even know where to begin. It was the worst overall dining experience of my life. (Maybe one runner up with a Red Robin years ago). We made reservations 2 days before for a family of 6 and a set of twins. They didn't...have our reservation somehow but we're seated quickly anyway. The server had no idea what she was doing, like she had been trained that morning. Had to check what beers, what wine, had to go back and ask what was in each dish. She was sweet and obviously embarrassed however. We waited AN HOUR AND A HALF for food and one meal never came at all before we're decided to just leave. The food was almost inedible. I usually love having leftovers and i left a nearly untouched plate of food on the table. Very overpriced and unsatisfying to say it nicely.More

Don't go there. The food is awful at high prices, the service polite but feels like they got hired three hours before. The entire Resort is rundown, dingy and in places filthy.

I have been visiting the resort at the mountain for over ten years. I go every 2 to 3 months for some R and R and to get out of the city. The food and Service here is abominable. I have tried over and over...again, knowing what I'm going to get and yet, it's still horrible and I guess my fault for continually thinking there will be a different outcome. Last night, I went in for a drink and to order food. Marty was behind the bar. Long time employee. There were 7 people at the bar, no other tables in the place at the time. I was ignored. for at least 10 mins. Ignored, so I went to the bar and got a drink and asked for a menu. I finished half my glass of wine before he came over to ask me my order. So I ordered and it took another 15 mins for my to go burger. There were NO other patrons at this time, just bartender gabbing with another employee. My burger was so disgusting I did not eat it. It looked as if it sat under the heat lamp for 10 mins. the lettuce, which was wild greens were super wilted, so gross I tried to take them off along with the tomato which was an END piece of a tomato and it was so wilted and HOT, my entire burger tasted like burnt tomato. I do NOT know why I keep giving this place another chance. I am at my wits end and I guess will never go back. it's a shame because I love staying up there. it's beautiful.More

Ugh. The dates decor should have clued me in but we arrived at the hotel after a long drive and were too hungry and tired to venture out. We thought, how bad it could be. It simply was that bad! Nothing tastes good and our...stomachs felt off. We would have been better off eating nuts and chips. Just stay away! Needless to say we didn't eat another meal at the hotel though we enjoyed our stay.More

Fine Dining they said, It'll be fun. Nope. Waited too long to hear the barman take responsibility for the timing error in our to-go order. (I don't think it was his fault) The appetizer was produced last. (though it was good and hot) The wait...caused the main courses (risotto and lamb) to cool and congeal (blech) and when I raised questions I got no response. This might explain why everyone who arrives at the resort arrives with a loaded cooler.More

The hotel was desolate on this wintery weekday. I think because of its lack of patrons the space was extremely cold forcing us to keep our coats and scarves on. The food was just okay with no recommendation for a gluten free or dairy free...diet. In the end they did work with me, but like I said the food was just ok.More

Christmas cocktails but no festive meals, just a Surf & Turf Lobster special for Christmas dinner. As we chose not to attend the Christmas Buffet, expected the ala-carte restaurant to cater for Christmas, it didn't. It wasn't festive, the waitress was friendly but not professional...and lacked training, our meals were sent back as the steak was cold (we had the special), the second round was average we didn't receive the bottle of wine ordered. I expected more and wished we had stayed at Government Camp as the resort and dinner was disappointing. The resort is tired and the staff disengaged. The Manager was helpful and did make amends when we raised our issues but sense that she spends much of her time managing the problems. Our first family Christmas in a resort and wished we had booked in Government Camp much earlier.More

I actually wanted to do a review for the Resort itself. Four years ago my family came to this place and we had a great memory of the place. It was well maintained. This past Christmas our family and our extended family decided to spend...a few days here again, because we wanted to be close to the Ski Bowl. We rented a villa and a suite. It was disappointing to say the least. The kitchen in the villa only had like 3 spoons and 3 forks, 1 knife, 1 pot, 1 pan, 1 kitchen towel. We had to ask for more to accomodate all of us. The cleaning crew didn't come to clean for one of the days we were there, even after a few phone requests from us. This was one week before Christmas and judging from the parking lot the Resort was not full. We spent so much $$$ and we didn't get what we deserved. We will look for a different place to stay the next time we want to vacation in this area.More
