I travel/camp up in the B'wood-Rhody area about every weekend and I don't miss the BTR for breakfast...and maybe a li'l drinky or two. I am conflicted here because they def deserve a great review but I don't want it to become too busy. Particularly...in these times of social distancing where I might be giving my future seat to someone reading this. I'll put others first. Go there. Enjoy. Best, JesseMore

Bloody Mary’s and pancakes all day!! We enjoyed our meal immensely! Great with kids and the food was amazing. We want to go back for dinner. The atmosphere in the restaurant was like an old lodge setting. Very cool dining experience with great service.

This is based on one dinner. The historic setting is great and the people working and at the bar were great. However, my fish and chips (onion rings instead of fries) was bland and on the soggy side and just warm when served. The onion...rings weren't as crispy as they should have been either. I suspect the oil just wasn't hot enough. I might go back and give it a second try and order something else. It was a Wednesday night, so it's possible that the main cook had the day off.More

We ate an early dinner here on a snowy September day. It was cold outside but we got a warm welcome in the bar ( they have a restaurant too). Our waitress was efficient and friendly. Good beer selection, small wine selection by glass but...the Cab Sauvignon was good. Hearty comfort food, that tasted great ( club sandwich, Halibut and Chips, meatloaf ). We even tried our hand at Keno! History of the building is interesting too!More

All I had was simple ham and eggs with fried potatoes. The potatoes alone was worth it. The sourdough bread was meh, but I don't care. Love this place!

My husband and I stopped here on our way through the Mount Hood area and were happy we did. The food was good comfort type food and the service was fast and friendly. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely make...a stop here.More

We have passed by this place many times and wondered what it would be like to eat there. We were staying at The Resort at the Mountain and thought we would give the Barlow Trail a try. We went with friends and were seated right...away. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The food was on time and great. The prices were very reasonable. Overall, this was a great place to eat. It will be a great place to stop us to stop again on one of our many trips to Portland.More

Welches does not offer any chain restaurants from what we could tell. We stopped at Barlow Trail Roadhouse for dinner after reading online reviews. We only went in to the right side of the establishment for dining. It looked like there was a bar connected...on the left side. The interior is beautiful and rustic and left me imagining how much history is within the walls! Food was decent, but service was slow. It was almost as if the server was working both sides of the building alone. All in all a good experience if you have time to sit and relax.More

We have been here several times as we live in the area. Our last visit was maybe a year ago so we had to go again for dinner. I had the chicken fried steak dinner and my spouse had the blue cheese burger with tater...tots. Everything was delicious, and homemade. My mashed potatoes even had the skin included which I liked. Huge portions for both dinners, we had leftovers for the next day. Perfect service in the dining room. We have also dined in the lounge and had great service as well.More

We enjoyed our early dinner at this restaurant. It is located in a log cabin built in the 1930's that has a colorful history! Wait staff were friendly and helpful.
