We had just had a horrible experience at another restuarant so we decided to stop here. The food and service were AMAZING! Their margaritas are perfect. We definitely will return. Thank you for the great hospitality.

So Del is a family run business. The dad is the cook, the mother greets guests, serves salsa, chips and drinks, and last but surely not least their two sweet daughters are the servers! It’s my favorite place to eat Mexican food in Sutherlin! Everything is...nice and clean. Your always greeted with a smile, and I think the food is very good. I go there as often as I can. 👍🤩👍🌮. Oh, and they have a nice lil bar if you’d like a drink with your meal.More
It was clear that we weren't going to be getting home at a reasonable time for dinner, so we exited I-5 at Sutherlin and looked for a place for a simple meal. Our choice was the Sol De Sutherlin based only on first impressions. We...ordered the senior chicken taco and burrito meals, as we weren't looking for a big meal. The salsa and chips were OK, nothing that would have you asking for a container of salsa to go. The entrees were promptly served, but didn't distinguish themselves from the many Mexican restaurants along I-5. If I were in a similar situation again, I would visit a different establishment just to see what else I could find locally. Not that the meal was flawed in any way, but just my personal quest to find food that I can gush over.More
A group of our friends and ourselves, totaling 8 visited this restaurant on a recent Saturday evening. One of our group was informed the food here was very authentic Mexican food. Having lived in Calexico California, a walking distance from Mexicali in Baja California, I...was looking forward to having some authentic Mexican food again. One of the delicacies I frequently enjoyed in Mexico was their Mexican Shrimp cocktails (Coctel de Camarones) and in Mexico they were always served chilled. I noticed on the menu their coctel de camarones were list under soups which means they were hot. I have had them served hot in the USA but never in Mexico. I asked if they served them chilled & the waitress indicated she had never seen them that way. Consequently I ordered bacon wrapped shrimp and sadly they were overcooked to the point even the shrimps were crunchy and very unappetizing. My wife had a Taco salad and said it was nothing to write home about. We also had a couple of Margaritas that had a basic mix that was much too tart to the point it left a nasty taste in your mouth. Two of our group liked their food but I don't know what they chose. The remaining four all were not happy with their meals. On the plus side the restaurant is nicely appointed & we found the wait staff very pleasant. However it is after all the food that ones comes in for & I have to say unfortunately it was not that good. I am sorry to say that I doubt any of us will return.More
Very nice place to eat! The female staff were friendly and have beautiful smiles. The dining area was nothing to write home about. A little cramped! The restroom clean. Had a very good Deluxe Enchilada with rice and beans. Perfectly cooked and tasty.
Food trucks serve it. Resort settings feature it. There are different styles of the same foods. One thing is a sure bet..."You cannot tell from the outside what is being served on the inside of any location that specializes in serving Mexican food. Sol De...Sutherlin is such a place. Not much to look at but the food makes up for the establishment. Hot, fresh, tasty, authentic and priced to encourage repeat customers is what you'll find here. We are repeat customers and have tried different menu items and all have been excellent.More
Saw the good reviews and had to try the tortilla soup. Loved it! There are so any variations on this soup, but I really enjoyed the flavorful broth, fresh tomatoes, crispy tortilla strips and hint of lime. Went back the next night and ordered it...again, and so did my daughter. She really liked it too. Hubby had chicken enchiladas both evenings. They were typical but good and mild rather than spicy. This is the first Mexican restaurant he has been able to enjoy without getting heartburn for dessert. Very reasonable prices.More
Friendly, dependable service, good prices, good food! I am a local and can depend on quick service, consistently good food and reasonable prices.
Third time is the last time. We always give any place more than one or two tries before giving up.The service was fair considering the fact that we had fourteen people, although we had to ask several times for drinking straws. The food was not any better...than the first two times .How can a Mexican restaurant serve tasteless food?No flavor,no spice.Add insult to injury,if you want sour cream and guacamole,be prepared to pay $2.50 extra.Several items stated the food doesn't come with tortillas.?What? Prices are higher than they had any right to charge. We only stayed because we were with friends otherwise adios!More
