Very good food. Waitress and Waiter very nice. Can eat outside in deck and watch the people canoe or raft by. We started out there but moved inside cuz it was too hot for the little one. It was not a problem for them.
As soon as we stepped into the restaurant we noticed things were tense among the wait staff. There were only three (that we could see) trying to cover service both inside and outside on the patio. There were no dedicated host/hostess...and it took a LONG...TIME to get seated. Our waiter tried his best make us comfortable...but you could clearly see he appeared tense...(the whole staff appeared to be...not just him).
The restaurant's location was wonderful...right on the Rogue River! So it truly has beautiful ambiance.
My wife ordered a Chicken Chimichunga...I ordered the lunch plate with a Beef taco and enchilada (with refried beans and Spanish rice).
First of all, the enchilada had no enchilada sauce...it was more like a taquito. The meat sauce was okay...but I've tasted better.
What blew me away was...the refried beans and Spanish rice. The beans appeared to be gray in color...overly "whipped"...and without flavor. They were awful. The Spanish rice was meagerly seasoned and mediocre. I"ve tasted much better.
I ended up leaving about half of my food on the plate.
I truly think MIguel's at one time was much better than this. I see from previous posts that others have had a much different experience that we did. For us...the restaurant failed to live up to the hype.More
The food is ok. The view is great. FYI - Chili Rellenos listed on the menu are not what is served. What you get is a egg omelet with a slice of canned green chili and a little cheese. Yuck. Travel to Mexico a lot...and never had a green chili omelet passed as chili Relleno. Stick with something easy like a burrito. lol.More
We got a great table on the veranda outside just beside the river. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The meals were unexpected delicious since we ar noth really fans of mexican food. If we had stayed longer we would have gone there...again and again!More
Right on the banks of the Rouge River, with gorgeous views. It is directly across the river from the hotel so its a short walk over the bridge which was nice. You can watch people go by on their rafts as you eat so weather...permitting ,sit outside! Food was quite good and our server was awesome! Highly recommend a blackberry margarita! We will visit again for sure!More
Worst dining experience I've had in my 35 years. Let me start by saying I've been to this restaurant a handful of times after rafting and have always had great food and service. Not yesterday. Our waitress was rude. When we were missing drinks for...3 of our party of 12 she started flipping through her order book as to prove us wrong then said the bar messed up. Ok fine. So then we place our food orders. Out of seafood. Ok still not the worst thing. 10 minutes after placing all of our orders they come back and say they're out of steak. At this point I flag a random person down and ask for a manager. He says there isn't one on site but would be happy to help. We explain the situation and as I'm doing so our rude waitress jumps in to argue. At this point I say look I just want to pay for our drinks and leave. It's ridiculous. So she brings out the tickets for our drinks. 3 parties pay for drinks but one is a ticket for $90. He, not knowing the other two paid, just pays it because we want to leave. When we figure out the mistake we call the restaurant and rude waitress answers the phone. How do I know? Because she tells me she was our waitress when I explain the mistake. She argues there was no mistake. I ask for someone else. She says sure. Puts the phone down for 5 minutes comes back and says no there isn't call tomorrow and hangs up on me. Will never be going back to this establishment ever.More
Bussers can't sit people. Family of 5 left. Food was good. How can you not expect to be busy on a Saturday after 12 in the summer time. They weren't busy when we came in. Staff looked like zombies no smiles and not paying attention...to customers. Cross train your employees so others can sit people.More
