We have eaten lunch and dinner here. We just happened to pass by here on our way home from Portland, we live at the coast. What a find! The food is scrumptious and my husband and I have tried many of the items on the menu. The wait staff are friendly, helpful and very courteous. The restaurant sits next to... More

We stopped here for breakfast and were very pleased with the food and service. Everything was cooked exactly as ordered and portions were more than generous. Coffee cups never got empty before a refill was offered. Will definitely go back again.

I have breakfast most often here but have also had other meals and never a bad one. Service is helpful, attentive and friendly. Good coffee. Chicken Fried Steak is great. Patty Melts very good. Hash browns are world class. Be sure to look at their Blazer memorabilia on the way to the restrooms.

I live in the Jewell area and USED to eat at the Elderberry Inn several times a week. Never Again! I went in on three different occasions and they could not get my order right. I did not complain, nor make them remake my dinner the first two time, rather I ate what they brought me so I could dine... More

Stopped by here on our way to Seaside, entirely by chance. In between peak hours, it wasn't too busy. Plain, unpretentious exterior and interior. No very special menu items. Short version: this is a roadside diner kind of place. So why four stars? Easy to answer: the clam chowder was excellent. The french dip sandwich didn't seem like a lot,... More

We wanted to eat dinner before getting into the traffic of Portland. We stopped at the Elderberry Inn and we are glad that we did. I am not a fish-and-chips expert, but I am certain that the fish was fresh and breaded in-house rather than being of the frozen type. Both of us found it to be scrumptious! Be sure... More

Diner cooking has made this watering hole/cafe a favorite on the Portland to coast highway US 26 a favorite for more than 60 years. memories of pies of bygone years tempted us to try the sandwiches followed by berry cobbler a la mode. The sandwiches were fine and predictable, not gourmet. The cobbler was very good. Definitely a good stop... More

THE VIBE: Smaller-than-small town / everyone knows everyone else (but not in a provincial, "drag the needle across the record and the music stops as you walk in" way) eatery where kindly waitresses will call you "hon." You're in logging country. The menu explains the original restaurant was built in 1938, but it burned down in the '40s. The current... More

We stopped here on our way to Cannon Beach, OR. It's a bit dated, but spotless, well kept, and homey. Our breakfast was delicious. We had overeasy eggs, huge perfectly cooked bacon strips, with a side stack of pancakes. Really nice big portions! Tried Marionberry preserves for the first time which was delish. Our server was very friendly and nice.... More

There's not a lot between Forest Grove and the Oregon Coast on the Sunset Highway. If you're hungry, a Dairy Queen, Camp 18 (another good restaurant) and the Elderberry Inn are about all you have to pick from. The Elderberry Inn is basic, roadside food, but nicely done. A few twists on normal fare can be found on the menu... More
