Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

during covid 19 we were happy to see some of the piedmont food carts were open for lunch yesterday, with food to go....the only alcohol per olcc is a growler, as individual beer/wine is not allowed..we spoke to the man who runs it, and he...is making do and being positive.....we began with lu's filipino cart and had teriaki shrimp bowl with rice and salad...lu's food is always exceptional...be sure to tip a lot during this challenging time...next, we had the mexican cart on the west side of the pod, can't recall the name, sorry, and had the special of 3 mahi tacos...delicious too!...next, we had the portlandia sushi burrito, the grill cheese traditional on sourdough wheat, and my partner had fish/chips at halibuts...all the food is so fresh and affordable, and tipped well......thx so much....be sure to tip beyond as these fine food cart owners are trying to make ends meet..we'll be back again soon, thx so much!More

Ron & Franziska are genuinely awesome people making incredibly delicious food. We had a lamb döner kebab and a döner salad and both were excellent. There's shade to eat under and it was the perfect lunch stop for a great day!

The owner is authentic and friendly. She serves up a seriously good döner kebab. My only critique is how heavy on the salt the bread, meat, and sauce were. Maybe we just hit it on a salty night (I lean towards liking salt). I will...definitely give it another go soon!More

I just ate at PDX Donerland after seeing that they #36 best food cart in Portland and was really underwhelmed. The owner seems really nice and friendly, but her signs indicate she is closed this weekend and closing for October... I had the lamb doner...kabab and it was a large sandwich with a decent pita, but my German Doner experience has the kabab heated and this was not. There was lots of meat, but it was almost flavorless and very dry. Lots of the meat was crisp, which if there was less of it that had a crunch, I wouldn't mind, but this was just overall dry. Perhaps they don't get enough traffic, but their lamb needs to be moist and full of good flavor... The yogurt sauce was tasty, but there wasn't enough of it. I am not sure that I would give this another try, but I certainly wouldn't rank it amongst the top 40 food carts in Portland.More

Simply delicious! The owner was amazing! She was the sweetest and the most welcoming women! One of my friends was lactose and tolerant and she even had lactose yogurt sauce! I personally am a vegetarian and she has a veggie option too! I normally don't...like anything different when it comes to food...but this was amazing! I will definitely come back when in Portland! My other friends had the regular döner and they LOVED it! I'm pretty sure it's all home made! I saw her making the bread from scratch!!! Don't miss this gem in Portland!!! It's a must eat!!!! :)))))More

Perfect from start to finish-the food, the owner and the vibe. She makes the bread fresh there and the meat is roasting there as well. The only difference between Doner here and Berlin is that the owner would of Turkish descent in Berlin. Yum!

Have been here a couple of times and it's honestly the best Döner I ever had. I'm from Germany and have tried many Döner before but this one is really hitting it out of the part. Amazing ingredients and the hot sauce is unreal 👌

BEST DÖNER EVER!!! I was sooo excited to go and try this place out and was not disappointed at all. Tasted like the ones I got in Germany! I was licking my lips and talking about nothing else all the way home to Seattle. I'm...so glad we put this one on the list for our weekend trip to Portland. I hope the business grows very very fast and they can expand their food cart business all the way up to us. I would probably put up a tent next to Franziska's food cart and camp there on weekends. I am already planning her into my trip out to the coast, even though the food truck is not nearly on the way,... but I will make sure I'm getting my Döner fix. :-D I would never do that for OK food, only for amazing delicious items like this. We had both meat Döners, my husband tried the chicken and I had the lamb. The meat was delicious, the bread hand made (sooooo awesome) and she even makes the huge meat skewers herself. Nothing I would even remotely try and attempt to do, even though I miss this stuff so much. Thumbs up and we will be back in summer! Thanks for opening this gem!More
