I went here a couple times and really enjoyed the chocolates and pastry I had for the road. Very nice staff as well. Great place for cakes too if you need one.

Specifically, the "GM Dome"!! (GM stands for Grand Marnier) This is the best (not made at home) desert ever! But you have to make a little effort. This is not something they have on hand all of the time. You need to special order it in advance, and probably give them two days notice, but it's sooo worth it. Just... More

Jaciva's has been a fixture on Hawthorne for years. The bakery items are tasty and the candies, fudge and chocolates are outstanding. Twice each year I travel to China to visit factories. I always take a box of Jaciva's chocolates to give out to the workers. Needless to say, I am very popular (thanks to Jaciva's) when I visit!

First off ... people have been coming here for decades primarily to order cakes for special occasions. I visited to check out their tea selection (Stash! Egads!) and other baked goods (I got the chocolate eclair which had too much shell and not enough filling for my liking.) They had all the cookies and such from my childhood bakeries. Sat... More

Chocolates were great and the staff was very friendly! Seems like a little mom and pop chocolate/sweets shop. We enjoyed it!

If you are in SE Portland, be sure to go to the east end of Hawthorne and enjoy the beautiful and tasty chocolates and cakes at JaCiva's bakery. It is owned by a wonderful family and is a great way to support local businesses while getting a good deal on delicious treats.

This is really a full-service bakery and chocolate shop. Apparently they have coffee and dessert in the evenings, but I always stop by for petit-fours when I am in the neighborhood. Also great for breakfast pastries of all kinds. And for Easter and other holidays they have a huge selection of chocolate treats, made of real chocolate unlike what you... More

Getting birthday cakes at Jaciva's is a family tradition. They are always fresh and handmade daily. Service is super friendly and very family oriented. Their after dark cafe is fun and delicious. Jack and Iva, the founders are frequently there. At one visit Jack gave my young son a behind the scenes tour of the entire bakery. Both of them... More
