Where else can you go and get a basket of tasty pastries to munch on while waiting for your mean? Our basket included a savory twist of flaky pastry, small blueberry muffin, a chocolate nibble and a fudgy cake with icing. Just one of the recommended brunch choice is the indulgent Madame Croque with layers of tasty ham between brioche... More

Had lunch in this lively restaurant. The space is smallish, and when we arrived it was packed and loud. As crowd thinned, enjoyed it more. Delicious desserts. Our table mostly had sandwiches, which were all terrific. Salmon on the caesar salad is smoked in house and was completely delicious. Overall, a wonderful place for a higher end lunch, and service... We always try to eat at least one meal at this East side Portland Papa Haydn's. Again it did not disappoint us. I started with a well made vodka and soda with a twist of lemon peel. It is surprisingly difficult to get that in many bars. Most often the drink will arrive with a slice of lemon or lime... More

We dined with reservations (suggested) for a Friday night celebration of the two of us for dinner. Wine selections were flexible for us to have good choices. Lesly was our knowledgeable server and affirmed good choices of fresh fish for my wife and I enjoyed the perfectly cooked pork chop. As mentioned in the intro he strawberry champagne cake was... We have lunch here every time we visit Portland. Have NEVER been disappointed. In fact, the food has always been wonderful. Also, fabulous deserts. Probably one of the best collection of choices anywhere we have ever been. Also, manager and staff are always super accommodating. Despite its great reputation, they act like they reall want you to be there and... More

I make it a point to always try to get to Papa Haydn's when I'm in Portland (southeast location). And never have I been disappointed. Both the lunch and dinner menus are great - limited options, but you can't go wrong with whatever you pick. This trip, I was there for lunch and ordered the croque monsieur and the side... More

This restaurant appeared to market itself, and price itself as more than an average place to dine. Serving clams with instant ramen noodles for 22 dollars is over priced. Whilst there was a large selection of desserts they weren't particularly interesting flavours, just a whole load of cream and cake. On the plus side the cocktails were excellent. Both the... More

After trekking around downtown for 2 days, decided to try something that wasn't a stressful parking situation. Went to Papa Hadyn for dinner and food was very good at decent prices. Had the COBB salad and shrimp salad and would love to go back and try the fries. The dessert menu was two pages long and we had the coconut... More

Pinch me, but don't wake me up. I had some time to kill in East Portland and asked for recommendation for lunch. Didn't expect much, but one recommender was emphatic - "go to Papa Haydn and have dessert!". There was something about that enthusiasm and hesitant-less response. Soon I was on my way to discover a charming little neighborhood called... More

Treated ourselves and out of town guests to the ambiance, service and great food. The waiter was attentive and polite. The site is clean with both inside and outside dining. We made reservations because the lines can be LONG. We had french toast on special bread with hazelnuts and berry compote, granola with everything including fresh cream and seafood-salmon-trout eggs... More
