We were in Portland to visit our son and to eat our way through the city. We started the week at Imperial which was very good. We ate at food trucks and high end sushi bars, top rated brunch spots etc... This place had by far the best food we had on our trip. We chose to eat here because... More

We went here after reading about their happy hour. Not that we saved any money doing that, but it was worth every penny! The charcuterie plate was comprised solely of house cured Canadian bacon (which, to my palate was a lot like a less-salty prosciutto), accompanied by a house-made cracker and a delicious cherry mostarda. The cheese plate was a... More

Just had the best trout ever here, perfectly executed with amazing sauce. The fennel I didn't need but loved this dish. My date had the fois gras and loved it-amazing flavors but rich so be ready for that. Trout was very light. Amuse B great as well as red velvet treat at the end. Good service and great atmosphere. Can't... More

I last ate at Paley's Place at least 13 years ago. I had one of the best meals I'd ever had back then. This visit was just as good. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome by the friendly, but professional staff. I had the 5 course tasting menu and it was the perfect amount of... More

Great food and ambience in this little house turned restaurant. Menu definitely had some creativity that I couldn't quite nail down as to its origins - French/Russian was the best I could describe. The wagyu beef was tremendous. Pricey drinks, though the rest of the menu seemed about what you would expect.

My husband and I recently visited Portland to see my daughter and son-in-law and we chose Paley's Place for our first dinner out since it was next to our hotel. What a stroke of luck! Not only was the food sheer perfection, but the warm, yet elegant ambiance and friendly, professional service made our evening a night to remember! In... More

We stopped by for a quick happy hour. The menu was quite interesting -- salmon cakes and kolbasa varenyky (somewhere between a dumpling and a ravioli with Russian flavors). The happy hour drinks were small and weak; try ordering off the regular menu. The dining room is warmer than the website photo suggests, and quite comfortable. The hostess and wait... More

Paley's Place is a delightful bistro and bar in the NW District of Portland. The happy hour drink selections are quite good and well-priced, and the bar menu is varied and delicious. We did not dine in the main part of this pleasant restaurant, which was once a stately home. We did peruse the menu which looked varied and interesting.... More

We so enjoyed the food and the drink at Paley's Place this weekend evening. Perhaps the only miss I encountered was when I left the table BEFORE ordering my drink to use the restroom. Not a good move on this early Saturday evening after it opened for dinner. Upon return, the waitress did not come back to check on me... More

This is one of Portland's 5 best restaurants, from a person who tries them all. The menu varies regularly so that you get a dining surprise. And in 5 years, the food is always tasty and prepared as if the chef was trying to impress each and every person. Plus, they accommodate special dietary needs (gluten and dairy free) as... More
