I can't deny that this place/view is nice. Actually for the area is very nice. Staff are not nice, they all have an attitude and you better have a reservation (even happy hour) or they give you a real attitude! Food is expensive for what you get , one positive thing is that their house wine is affordable and drinks... More

We ate here on March 11, 2017, on the far west table with great views toward the Willamette. The four of us ordered the lamb dish, the felafel, and the steelhead. Couldn't decide which was best. All cooked to perfection and all had distinctive flavors as described on the menu and by our very personable, attentive server. Will come back... More

Ended up here on a whim. We were in town for the weekend and were looking for a relatively nice (not overdone) place to go for a family member's birthday. We found this place, and I am happy we did. The food was nicely done and creative without being overly nit picky, and the atmosphere and staff were great. Definitely... More

Did the Valentine's Day presentation. Food and service was perfect and ambience was even better. Too many Portland restaurants are overcome with noise because of construction. A very pleasant place to have a drink, have dinner and connect with that special someone!!!

Dined with wife, daughter and her partner in November and were thoroughly delighted with the experience. We had dined here about 5 years ago and were not impressed with the limited menu and somewhat eclectic wine selection at that time. But my how they've changed !Excellent salads: Noble and Endive-beet were fresh and tasty. Entrees: New York Steak,Mac & Cheese,... More

This is a true Portland dining experience. Locally sourced ingredients, beers and wines, and veggies from their rooftop garden, you have to experience this place. The wine cellar is filled with a fantastic variety of PNW producers, the menu is full of excellent choices, and the service is efficient. You may have to wait, even with a reservation, but it... My wife and I came here on our first night in Portland, OR; we were staying in the Buckman neighbourhood and Noble Rot was right up the street from where we were staying, so it seemed like a great place to start out visit. The restaurant is on the rooftop of an old warehouse building and is accessed via a... More

I was looking for an interesting restaurant to "treat" a good friend, and it had to be reasonably close to my home location as well as have the (generally) kind of cuisine I thought my friend would like, i.e., "eclectic American." Well, when I came across the "Noble Rot" website I was immediately intrigued...what a name for a restaurant! LOL...The... More

This restaurant offers fine food and relaxed but friendly service - I was especially impressed by how the waiter brought different wines for us to taste even though we were just ordering one glass apiece. (In fact, his recommendations trumped our own initial choices.)

It was recommended to us by a member of the hotel staff for a spot with an outdoor patio with a sunset view. We went just to do that; however, once we got there, sat outdoors for awhile, enjoyed the sunset, and then got cold, we decided to move indoors to the bar area for a meal. The whole experience... Noble Rot opened in May 2002. It has gained local and national attention including the NY Times, the Wine Spectator & Gourmet. The Willamette Week named Noble Rot "Restaurant of the Year" in 2003 & Sunset Magazine named it “2009 Wine Bar of the Year”. The best way to plunge into the Rot is through the wine flights that are offered each day. They also display a large bottle selection and all the wines are available to go. Noble Rot’s highly regarded, locally sourced, seasonal food menu is made up of small plates with intense flavors. Noble Rot is perched atop the fourth floor in an award winning, environmentally sound, Leed-platinum certified building (the greenest!) which includes a fantastic west facing city view. With its outdoor patio seating, it is one of the best places in the city to watch the sunset.
