You might want to come check out this place in the beginning of your tour, as you very well may want to return. More than once. I wished I had this insight on my trip. I am not sure if it is the best, as Portland seems to have a small wealth of BBQ, but this was really good.

We had a lot of the items they served in our party and we all agreed the best two items were the Smoked fried chicken sandwich and the Mac salad. Both were amazing and I highly recommend. We liked everything else also with the exception of the BBQ sauce. It just wasn't our thing. Good thing the meat had great... More

I broke the cardinal rule of being a foodie guy.... I didn't bring my cell phone or a camera when I went to People's Pig! PEOPLE'S PIG is PORKTACULAR! Yea.... I just made that up... ;-) Located on the ever changing Williams St in NE Portland. The People's Pork building sits alone on a block thats flanked by dirt lots..... More

Wanted to love this spot - it has eclectic Portland written all over it but sadly doesn't live up to the hype... First time I made what most would consider a rookie mistake, I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was barley edible w/all the gristle in the chicken thigh. So rookie mistake taken on as my fault ventured over... More

My taste buds started watering when I saw the smokers going right outside. Gritty atmosphere. Great smoked meat. Excellent collards and cornbread. Reasonable prices.

We live in Hawaii and can't get the southern style BBQ with that great smoked flavor. The People's Pig filled the bill! We both loved what we ate. I had the BBQ beef sandwich and my husband had the ribs. Both to die for!

My son and I love this place. Everything here is good. Sides: macaroni and potato salad are amazing. Corn bread is so good it's dessert. Lamb, pork, chicken, etc. It's all amazing. One plate is enough food for two. Your clothes may smell like BBQ when you leave but it's so worth it. Then do to go also.

Oh man was I bummed out with this experience. The quality of the ingredients was good - I'll give them that. We just did not enjoy the flavors at all. Everything was very salty and the cornbread was cold. Portland has some quality BBQ spots, but this just isn't one of them. Service was okay.

The food was average served promptly in a space that I would envision as an an old school barbecue shack. Booth seating was very uncomfortable with what appeared to be metal back supports spaced approximately 2' apart leading to a decision not to linger too long. Portions were adequate and fairly priced. We tried a barbecue pork sandwich and a... More

We had the pork shoulder, fried smoked chicken, pulled pork and Cuban. All were great....what you would expect from a BBQ place.
