We dined here on a rainy night in late December with friends. On arrival we were so comfortable in the bar that we decided to stay in there for dinner. Chef Marco's place, which he named after his Italian Grandmother, is excellent. The bar area has a Cheers-like ambiance of warmth and casual comfort with excellent service and caring staff.... More

Superb neighborhood Italian restaurant with a great menu and wine list. I kept it simple: spaghetti and grandma's meatballs, Caesar salad and Montepulciano wine. Loved it all. Staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

We checked out a lot of Italian places - almost none of which offer any veal preparation - and Gilda's does a different Veal preparation each night. I started with the Pappardelle with Boar - which was remarkable. The Veal Marsala was good - and the roasted potatoes served with it were fantastic.

My husband and I had dinner at this popular no frills (no table cloths, lacking ambiance) restaurant and while I liked the food we ordered it was not prepared in a typical Italian style of cooking that I am familiar with. I had butternut squash soup=good, halibut prepared with capers and brown sauce and roasted vegetables. The halibut was delicious.... More

I have never been in a restaurant that was unfriendly, no, nasty to children. If you have achild under rthe age of ten, go someplace else.

Last night we met friends at Gilda's because the reviews were positive and it was handy to our hotel. Since we didn't have reservations we were seated in the lounge. The server was very engaging and helped us to decide. We ordered appetizers from the bar menu: calamari, halibut cheeks, melted cheese and bread and beet salad. Our friends had... More

Within walking distance of Providence Park, the lower level lounge is our go to spot before a Timbers or Thorns game. Great Happy Hour menu.. I recommend the Tortellini, the beet salad and the Tiramisu. Good wine and beer selection. Upstairs is a nicer restaurant with a more extensive menu, though the dinner menu is available in the lounge after... More

Had a celebratory dinner here with 5 other friends and couldn't have been happier with the food and service. 2 of us started in the lounge which is heavily Timbers soccer club themed, as the location is so close to PGE park. Attentive service and well-made martini's. The restaurant has Italian food with great seasonal items as well as some... More

After a week on the Oregon seacoast eating fabulous seafood, Gilda's was picked at random out of the tourist magazine in Portland because it was Italian. We were not sure what to expect, but were most pleasantly surprised. This is a very nice small Northern Italian restaurant with the chef/owner clearly visible in the kitchen. It was quiet the night... More

Ate dinner here on a recommendation from our tour guide. I had the King Salmon entree and it was excellent. I washed it down with a pinot gris that was very good. The tiramisu for dessert was also very good. The service was also very good. I would recommend this restaurant for sure!

Owner and head chef, Marco Roberti, has recently returned to Portland, Oregon after graduating from culinary school in Florence, Italy to open his dream-come-true restaurant named for his grandmother. The food is fantastic, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is authentically quaint...complete with a little Italian man serenading on his violin from the corner of the small dining room! Check it out for either lunch or dinner...it's sure to be well worth it!
