Delicious drinking chocolate with rich full bodied flavors. Adorable little shop downtown, with beautiful decor and a wide variety of chocolates. The attendee was very knowledgeable and friendly. She helped me to find the perfect gift.

This was one of the best single-note taste experiences ever. I was literally moaning as I drank, and I literally LICKED the lid of the cup when I was done. The menu is confusing--like a snobby wine list, but the barista dude is nice. Do not sweat the high prices--this is special, like E.

This tiny chocolate shop is located in the Heathman Hotel. We tried the chocolate shot-.warm 72% Ecuadorian chocolate all melted and delicious in a shot glass. No milk, no fillers, just melted chocolate. Splendid. There are chocolates for sale as well as large chocolate bars. You can sit on a stool at the window while sipping & washrooms are very... More

The hot chocolate is fabulous. I went twice and tried different ones. Small and cozy shop on the same block as the Heathman Hotel.

If you like chocolate in any way, shape, or form, you have to try the drinking chocolate. it is so smooth!! Reportedly pure unadulterated single-source melted chocolate with a little added milk. I'm not sure if i believe them but they said no sugar added whatsoever, just pure chocolate and dairy. It definitely isn't too sweet... just pure perfect chocolate.... More

A delicious array of locally made fine artisan chocolates and also exotic select chocolate bars from around the globe. Staff is well informed and helpful with chocolate purchases for gifts and cooking needs. Love topping off each visit with a sumptuous cup of made-to-order drinking chocolate! The warm smooth, rich, delectable flavor quite surpasses ordinary hot chocolate! Also, we routinely... More

I visited here on a food tour. Sampled their hot chocolate which was creamy and delicious. Many craft chocolates, hot chocolate and coffee. Ask for a sample to see which chocolate to buy.

Cacao is a unique, high end chocolate store. Rather than just sell their own creations they carry a variety of offerings from more than 25 of the world's top chocolate producers (including SOMA from my hometown of Toronto). The chocolates sounded fabulous and many were gorgeously packaged. They aren't cheap - count on paying $5 to $10 for one bar.... More

This shop carries a wide variety of interesting chocolates from purveyors all over the world. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and enjoy talking with customers about their products. The drinking chocolate at Cacao is a rich, delicious experience. This shop should be visited by chocolate lovers young and old.

My mom and I are very big chocolate fans, but we are a bit of snobs because we have become very picky with the chocolate we eat. Of course, we had to go in when we walked by Cacao in Portland. Immediately, the staff was extremely friendly. We wanted to try the sipping chocolate, which is similar to European hot... More
