We were here for 2 days on a bike ride and the Sidewalk Cafe became our go-to place for food. Hearty breakfasts, outstanding and tasty sandwiches to take with us for lunch, then some good burgers for dinner. The milk shakes look great and taste even better... you've got to love a place that has a counter for every milkshake... More

Food was delicious, staff is friendly and there were toys for the kids. This is a charming restaurant in a small town. Definitely worth the drive!

One heck of a meal arrives in the shape of a massive hamburger. Did I mention sweet potato tots and local dairy milkshakes? Make sure you stop at the Sidewalk Cafe, but don't forget your appetite.

We were heading for the Painted Hills and stopped here for lunch. Wonderful service and delicious food. Will definitely be back the next time we're in central Oregon. Hamburgers were above average and the baked potato dish was the hit!

We stopped here after visiting the Painted Hills....and I must say the food was very good. It was the height of Summer when we happened into this place to have lunch. The place was jam packed full, but service was pretty fast considering the amount of people they had to serve. My husband and I split a milkshake and it... More

The staff was friendly and the portions were generous; even the coffee cup was larger than at the average diner. Service was excessively slow and the food wasn't really worth the wait. I had the chili and cornbread. The chili wasn't bad, but it wasn't really chili; more like a thick bean (both red and black) and burger soup. It... More

Great diner in town. Friendly staff and awesome burgers. The milkshakes are fantastic. Not much else needs to be said other than eat here when visiting Mitchell.

Sidewalk Cafe is a small eatery in a tiny town. I only get to eat here once a year in August, but it's a highlight! They have a large selections of burgers, sandwiches, milkshakes and desserts. Plus an array of side dishes that ensure you won't go away hungry. I love their burgers and the choice of side is a... More

We stopped here on the way to the Painted Hills for a snack. They have tasty milkshakes and a friendly staff. The burgers looked good and large if you are hungry for a meal.

First night in Mitchell we tried this place out. The wife had the chili and corn bread. The chili was great, the corn bread looked greener than it should be,( I don't know what recipe they used) but the wife really liked it. I had chicken and waffles for the first time. Loved it. Also try the lemonade, it was... More
