When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely some of the best food I have ever had! Two locals took us there because it’s their favorite, and I see why. We all ordered different items and shared. No disappointments! This place will be my destination of choice whenever I am in Eugene.

This facility is far ahead of the field in most phases of restaurant service. This is mostly because the owners are there day after day, working with staff to make sure everything is done right!

This was our third, and likely last visit to Sabai. First of all, getting a seat is a “process”. One calls for a reservation whereupon you’re informed of your 90 minute table limit. Once you’ve arrived, you get to wait outside, under a tarp until...your entrance is approved. Once you’re at the table, wait staff will be there. Really. They will. They have to be, you’ve only got 90 minutes! Now to the actual food and drink. If you can possibly negotiate a way to stay in the bar, do that. The craft cocktails are among the best in town and the bar food is really good. Very nice Chicken Satay, good Tempura Green Beans—overall a great bar. As a matter of fact, the bar got Sabai the only 2 stars they deserve. Our dinner was a complete disaster, as it had been on our previous visits. We’ve given up on dinner done right at Sabai. My Partner had Thai Teriyaki Chicken. I swear to you, the Teriyaki Chicken at Panda Express is better than what she was served. FAR better! The veggies with her entree were roughly chopped and undercooked. Her rice, as well as the meal in general was barely room temp. I had the Indian Curry La Primavera and for the life of me, I can’t begin to tell you why. This dish is a complete mess. It’s a selection of excellent flavors from different cultures that simply don’t work. The dish tastes like curried noodles, which is essentially all it is. The Pancetta and spinach were honorable mentions at best. It’s not a great presentation, looking a lot like Tripas or Chitlins. The handful of chopped parsley and green onions thrown on top did nothing to improve either the look nor taste of this stuff. Mine came out of the kitchen at room temp as well. Our waitress didn’t really like the answer when she asked how everything was. When we told her, she huffed, clammed up, didn’t offer an apology, a talk with a manager or a complimentary desert from the VERY limited desert menu. That’s probably good though, bringing us a desert would have certainly thrown us over our 90 minute limit. Three words for Sabai; Pick someplace else.More

I just can’t pass by this place when in Eugene. Basically a Thai/Asian restaurant with really great food. Very pleasant venue tastefully decorated with an upscale feel. A full bar with world class Northwest microbrews on tap. Excellent service.

Let me start off by saying that I love Thai food and have ALOT of it since being in Thailand while in the Navy back in 1990ish. I saw that Sabai was the number one restaurant in Eugene on Trip and I had to give...it a try. The place is a bit modern looking and the waitress was a bit slow from a packed house but the food was incredible. Every bite was exactly how it should be and everything was as good as I’ve ever had since visiting Thailand. I gotta tell you Sabai is on a high price point but everything is spectacular.More

You can make reservation. Having had Thai food all these years, this is one of the best. It's not necessary the Thai food you have in Thailand, there's a little fusion twist but you can see the authentic ingredients and the taste is much improved...for general public. Sabai Noodle - it's like a pad Thai but stir fry. Very tasty and flavorful. Tom Kha Soup - I recommend mild so you can taste the rich coconut flavorful and the spiciness of the soup. It was well mixed of hot and sour. White Angel on Fire - They have done an amazing job in the battered and came out deliciously crispy with a very intense sweet and spicy sauce. Satisfied! Yellow Curry - we ordered mild again, it's coconut dominated curry. If you like coconut flavor you don't disappoint. You can taste the curry spice in it but it's very different compared to green or red curry. Green and red curry or even panang curry taste more like Thai curry. Wish we have one of these in my neighborhood in Bay area California.More

We stayed in Eugene at the Hyatt for a night on route to travel to Seattle. We were feeling more like Asian food and this restaurant happened to be conveniently located right next to the Hotel in the Oakcenter complex where there were lots of...other choices for food and shopping. We ordered take out and ordered 5 different dishes. The pickup was very organized with proper social distancing in the line and a glass table shield for protection. Even the pens were disinfected. Great care in these challenging times. The food itself was awesome, well packed with bowls to eat and some condiments. The quantity was very generous and quality was great. All 4 of us enjoyed it. Highly recommended.More

So my husband and I went here for our 25th wedding anniversary. The people are super nice and the service is great. The food did not disappoint however it’s kind of crappy for the price. It’s great food great and service but the restaurant itself...feels cheap and it’s not. It’s pricey enough. We loved it but didn’t feel we had been anywhere special for the price. Really nice people though. Scallops are a little rubbery but calamari is great.More

One of our first dinners in town and guided by all the reviews. The menu was pretty small and limited. Everything we tried was no better than average. There is an inviting outdoor space but our experience was ruined by a loud party of pre-law...kids that were obnoxious, self important and drinking way too much. We moved away from them after their party kept growing but their volume carried. Looked around and saw that the other patrons were mostly students. Ultimately it was a disappointing meal and not a scene I’d return to.More
