Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lunch with 7 friends was terrific as usual. I had been gone for 7 months and this was my first time back to Bartlesville’s top restaurant. Three of us had the always stellar Firecracker Shrimp and it did not dissapoint. Other entrees chosen and devoured...were the Cluck & Squeal Mac, Asian Beef Bowl and always wonderful “The Q” burger. This place has become so, so popular which I’m happy about as many folks feel it’s the best restaurant in town on several levels and want it to stay around forever. There were lots of local business workers in attendance for lunch. Great place, great food, great menu!More

We ate our evening meal here at the recommendation of others. Nice atmosphere, the waiter was courteous and attended to our needs. We ordered the 14 oz Sirloins Medium Well and they were cooked right. My husband’s cut was rather tough, but mine was especially...tender and juicy and very good flavor. The Parmesan potatoes were ok, but not exceptional. The Brussels spouts had good flavor, but were hard as a rock. Have never had any quite like them, but what you could chew, the flavor was good. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn so it was a short walk for dinner. We would go back, but probably try something besides their steaks.More

Local friends suggested this restaurant in the rapidly redeveloping Bartlesville downtown. A pleasant evening with good service and food.

The Painted Horse was recommended. We stopped and enjoyed it so much we returned the next evening! The food and bar menu had an excellent variety of items and a fun vibe! The service was terrific and definitely added to the enjoyment! I highly recommend...the Painted Horse!More

We were staying at the Price Tower Arts Center hotel and wanted to have dinner within walking distance. A local person recommended The Painted Horse. It fit the bill. They offered a blended beer (hard cider on the bottom and Guinness on top) which was...a first for me. I had some kind of pesto dish that made me carbohydrate happy. The place can be noisy—probably the after work crowd because the headquarters for Conoco Phillips Oil is just across the street. A lively place where you can have a nice meal and drink without breaking the bank.More

The Painted Horse has an excellent menu with a variety of great entrees. You will find wonderful mac-n-cheese that is indescribable, delicious burgers and steaks, plus seafood and unique rice bowls. The only way to truly understand is to visit the Painted Horse and taste...the excellence delivered to your table.More

This is a small town local joint that has a casual steakhouse vibe. I got the filet mignon, medium. It arrived well done. In the server’s defense, she asked me if it was cooked correctly, and I said it was fine. I’m not one of...those to complain and ask for a whole new meal. But it was nowhere near what I asked for. It came with Parmesan potatoes and Brussels sprouts, both good. I had some fries on the side (sometimes you just need some French fries). They were basic shoestring fries. I had the margarita, which was basic. Not fancy, but not bad. This place has a lot of salads, sandwiches, nachos, cheese-covered fries, Mac n cheese dishes. My server, Holly, was good. She was kind, personable, attentive, and made sure I had everything I needed, even when serving another large party. And again, she asked if my steak was correct, but I wasn’t about to make anyone’s day harder. I would go here again, but be careful about ordering the steak.More

We were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and this place was only a block away so we walked over for dinner. A big place with upstairs seating as well. They seated us at a high top table just off of the bar and this...was fine. When we looked at the menu we both said Beef Pot Roast dinner at the same time. It came with cheesy mashed potatoes and green beans. The portions of each were huge. The brown gravy was excellent as was everything else. We left with a takeout box as did just about everybody else we saw leaving the restaurant. The price for the meal was $15 each which we thought was excellent. Drink prices were also acceptable. Service was good and they were busy. We are glad we stopped in here and we'd definitely go back again.More

Brought in a table of 12 to celebrate my wife's birthday. Wolf Creek helped me get the reservation and recommend food, and boy were they right. Although I had a sirloin, which was real good–my favorite was the Heap of Heifer that my wife got....If you like mac n cheese and pulled beef, look no further. Everyone in my party had something different and no one was disappointed; everyone said their food was good. They put us on the second floor in the back, which was good and private. Candice was our server and she was most attentive and capable. Food was on the higher side, but like they say, you get what you pay for! No regrets, will visit again when in town. Side note: if you're from out of town, you should check out the trail riding at Wolf Creek Ranch, which is connected to the restaurant.More
