Homemade Root Beer served in chilled mugs - what more can you ask for? Open seasonally - very, very busy (of course it would be!). They are also serve burgers, hot dogs, nachos, hot pretzels, etc. Indoor counter seating and outdoor picnic tables...

The Root Beer stand is a beloved tradition of my family. During the summer, my grandparents would take me there for a coney, a big mug of that delicious root beer, and to play with those fun little water ring gadgets. They took my mother there as a child and we still go to this day. It is a fun... More

The Root Beer is so good. It is always crowded. Too crowded sometimes. Great for kids. They have picnic tables in backnow with small play area. Kids like the train that goes by.

Stood in a crowded lunch time line to taste this legendary homemade root beer. I wasn't disappointed and added a cheese coney footlong ( a chili dog with cheese). If you want a smaller crowd go after 1PM. They even had a lunch counter but no one moved so we ate at a picnic table behind the building.

I can't speak for the food because I didn't eat anything on my first visit. I did however have root beer from a glass mug followed by a root beer float. I don't normally drink root beer but what they have here is very good stuff. Paired with ice cream you can go wrong. Place is very small but if... More

The root beer is served chilled in mugs stored in a water chiller. No ice unless you specifically order it (don't order it!). Water for the chiller and for making the root beer is pumped from artesian wells under the place. The chili dogs are exactly what you'd expect, every time. Good dogs, steamed buns, mild onions and chili and... More

This place is a mixed bag, I am a Burger Bloggger & reviewer, so went here due to the good burger reviews I had read, I got a simple plain Hamburger with lettuce, Mayo on a bun, $2.50 it was barely the size of a Mcdonalds Hamburger that sells for a dollar, it also is not far from the taste... The wait staff was very friendly and the food was very reasonably priced. We are from out of town and we definitely recommend it if your looking for a good old fashioned chili dog and root beer float.

It only took me of 15 years of being in the area to stop in for a bite. Inexpensive, but tasty. Cash only.

not only great food and service but a historical stop on Dixie Hwy been there for years, family owned and the rootbeer is the bomb! Nothing like a foot long chili dog and rootbeer on a summer day

Description
The Root Beer Stand has been a close-knit family operation from day one and remains so today. As a matter of fact, both of our main cooks met the men they married while working at The Stand. They were carhops back in the 60's, and still enjoy the fast-paced work. And the root beer.
