We had the fish n Chips from Hurseys it was delicious. We had Gummy Flake which i had never had before and absolutely loved, it was perfectly cooked and the chips were really yummy. Would recommend a visit.

Their natural oysters were fresh and it tasted excellent. My friend ordered a dozen of Oyster Kilpatrick, and the sauce was so strong and so thick, the sauce ruined the oyster :-(

We ordered the fried camembert entree and mixed seafood main to share. The entree was unusual as they were very large pieces like I have not seen before...the cheese was melted too much. The seafood was just ok....expected more on recommendation.

We visited Hersey’s restaurant during our stay in Stanley for our evening meal. We both had a small Half lobster which was very good and plenty of lobster meat plus from cracking legs etc. View of the setting sun also good. However the restaurant when...More

This place has a lot of mixed reviews and advertised as a go to place in Stanley, however it didn't live up to it's vibe and reviews. The food was average and so was the service. I have had better seafood at a corner shop.

Ordered the seafood box and scallops. $42. Everything was deep fried. It ruined my expectations for the scallops. The ‘taste’ was just not there. May be the dine in would have been different...or not. Very disappointing. For fried food lovers it may have been great.

We had a good view from the restaurant, friendly staffs with good product knowledge. Don't have to wait long for the food, and the fish was so fresh and yummy. A bit pricey but you pay what you get!!!

My husband and I just wanted fish and chips to take away. So good! We got a pack to share - 5 small pieces of fish plus chips. The fish was so fresh, so sweet with such a nice light fine crunchy batter. Chips were...More

I used to love Hurseys meals, so much that I would especially drive over an hour just to eat there. However the last few times I have been there I have noticed the quality has decreased with each visit. As well as the disorganised reservations;...More

Yeah it was unusual. Sorry I have taken so long to respond. I don't know that we would go back unless reviews became more consistent

Description
Hursey Seafoods, based in Stanley Tasmania, is a major catcher of the renown Southern Rock Lobster (crayfish). Patrons can purchase a range of seafoods; wholesale, takeaway or dine-in for lunch or tea. In 1974 James Snr and Valerie Hursey relocated from Dover (Sth East Tasmania) to Stanley (Nth West Tasmania). In 1987, to complement a growing company fishing fleet, a commercial factory/takaway/dine in premises was established as a memorium to James Snr and Valerie's son, Patrick, who was lost at sea attempting to rescue an adventurer, rowing across Bass Strait. In June 2015, the property was extensively renovated and now seats 100 diners, overlooking the bay and nestled under the Stanley Nut. Hursey Seafoods' fleet of nine vessels catches Southern Rock Lobster, Giant Crab, Stipey Trumpeter, Gummy Shark, flathead and other local reef fish. Lobster is retained live in sea tanks on premises, which ensures supply all year and provides consumers with the very best taste. Hursey Seafoods is open every day, apart from Christmas, for lunch and dinner. Takeaway open: 11.00 AM to 7.00 PM Sun - Thu, 11.00 PM to 7.30 PM Fri & Sat Restaurant open: 12.00 PM to 2.30 PM (seated by) & 5.30 PM to 8.00 PM (seated by)
