If you don't mind paying an extra $3 to sit and eat your pie, you'll like this place. My scallop pie was excellent and the coffee was pretty good. We'll buy takeaways next time to avoid the surcharge. $23 for a pie, coffee and a...More

I've visited Ingleside Bakery twice in the last month. I'd heard good things about it so dropped in to try for myself. The 1st visit was spoilt by a very grumpy waitress whose body language (rolling her eyes when we asked for "skinny milk"). I...More

Hello Taffy, I am extremely saddened to read that you were served by a grumpy waitress and if she rolled her eyes, that is an attitude I cannot abide under any circumstances. Can you please email me at ingleside@internode.on.net with a description of the person...More

I had the quiche and my husband had the Cornish. Delicious food but lacked ambiance. Needed a little music and flowers on the table. Being a cute country town just needed something a little extra to make the place a little more cosy. I. Saying...More

I'm very sorry you did not think that Ingleside was value for money although the eggs benedict are in fact $22.00 not $24.00 as mentioned. I am delighted you liked our egg and bacon pie and that the coffee was good, the girls said you...More

Having been to Evandale many times, we knew about Ingleside, so we didn't hesitate in stopping for morning tea. While we waited for your coffee order, we went for a wander around the gallery. The collection of paintings is amazing for a small local gallery,...More

Not to be missed on the journey between Launceston and Hobart. Fabulous customer service, a quaint warm setting by the fire on a cool Autumn day. Quite possibly the BEST vanilla slice in Australia! Such a beautiful town and well with the detour.....

I cannot see the owners would have any objections. You can enter the courtyard directly from the footpath. There is a side door between the old council chambers and the courtyard. You can also enter the building via its... More

Ingleside Bakery Cafe is a licensed cafe and bakery situated in a classically designed former Council Chamber built in 1867 in the beautiful Georgian village of Evandale. We produce our own cakes, pies, quiche and bread. The courtyard is a wonderful place to sit beside the famous wall of Pierre de Ronsard roses in spring and summer or beside the roaring log fire during the colder months. We have excellent Australian art for sale and we have a large range of Tasmanian wines, jams, olive oils etc. We provide free wifi and dogs are welcome to sit in the courtyard! The business has been under continuous ownership for the last 27 years. Open every day except public holidays.
