Hats off to Ellie who looked after our table. Knowledgeable, chatty, nothing too much trouble. I had tiger prawns (yum) followed by the best fishcake I've had in ages. Full of taste and good balance of fish. Not cheap but great food.

Visited with Friends on Saturday, was quiet enough when we first arrived, however was very busy by the time we left. After sampling the pan roasted chicken breast, you can understand why this place is so popular. Service was second to none, friendly service from the waitress, good recommendation on wines. Can't fault anything with the food or drinks that... More

Visited Wednesday. Just had a few drinks. They have a good choice of ales and lager. They also have a good offer on gin on a Wednesday. Worth a visit!

I had written a review for The Wheatsheaf which was slightly negative due to portion sizing and costing for an evening meal here a few months ago. We had said to friends that we would like to try the lunchtime menu that so many people have raved about on Tripadvisor. With this thought, we booked a table for four on... More

We popped into The Wheatsheaf midweek with our two kids and had a light lunch. My Veggie sandiwch was devine and my Husband very much enjoyed his meal. Drinks were lovely and children finished their food, a rare occurance! We hope to visit again soon.

Myself and my Wife managed to break away from parenting duties for a few hours so went to The Wheatsheaf for a lunch treat last Thursday. We were greeted straight away by the friendly and attentive staff. We arrived dead-on 12pm so got our pick of the tables and got to enjoy a very tasty ale (there are a few... More

Went as a group of 5 for early evening meal and the food was very good, but the service actually topped it. Attentive without being over the top, and friendly/chatty with general interest - keep it up!
