We visited as a family of 6 adults plus dog. We didn't book and arrived about 20 mins before the end of lunch service after a visit to Porlock. We received a warm welcome and were told that the dog was welcome too - both...More

First visit to The Culbone as we were on holiday in Porlock. We decided to sit in the garden for a drink before eating. What a view! The outside area was lovely and well kept. Going inside I loved the decor and the menu was...More

Can recommend the ploughmans lunch. Visited several times when it was under the previous owner and the food was always excellent and of course it was dog friendly ! Only stayed for lunch this time but was very pleased as the standards seem to be...More

So pleased to be back at this special Exmoor Inn and what a warm welcome I received with my pooch on a chilly Friday evening from Alex the new owner. I had requested my favourite room (room 3) with fab views and it was warm...More

We visited the Culbone twice in our recent stay in the area. The host Alex was most welcoming. We visited for a drink, our toddler and dog enjoyed the very large garden area with amazing views. Our dog gave this place all paws up as...More

We visited The Culbone today for lunch with my mother father and brother in law. On arrival we were greeted by the friendliest most hospitable and helpful landlord I have ever met. We were made to feel really welcome including our 10 month old puppy...More

We popped in, hoping to get a table for a quick bite to eat. Wow! Such a warm and friendly welcome, and such an enticing menu - an excellent selection of good pub food. I could have ordered anything! We ended up having 3 courses...More

Beautiful place with beautiful views. Food all freshly made and a great choice on the menu. Worth the slightly inflated prices.

The location and setting of this fairly remote restaurant is idyllic, in particular the approach through the moors. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff are friendly. Portions are very generous and well presented and the price levels are reasonable. Music nights are available...More

Description
Relax and unwind while you enjoy the stunning views from our peaceful bedrooms, and outside dining area. The seasonal views of the Valley and Moors are breathtaking (the coastal mist adds real magic to the landscape). Lush green in the spring and summer and full of character and action in autumn and winter. Partridge, pheasant and deer are our companions in the milder months. Staying at The Culbone is a great way to experience life on Exmoor.
