My girlfriend wanted to go here after a weekend away. We parked up, went in and were ignored. No welcome on the way in and this pretty much set the standard. I really wish we had turned around and walked back out again as you...More

Small cup of House Chocolate £3.50 hmmm? Latte £2.40 fair enough. Now, 2 pieces of carrot cake £9.90, how on earth can they justify £4.95 per slice, daylight robbery! Disgraceful! Hope they go into administration because I won't be returning and I am a regular...More

Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry you felt the our prices were not justified - they definitely weren't hiked up though: the items you mentioned have not increased in price for a number of years in fact. Whilst our normal Hot Chocolate (served with cream...More

The coffee and hot chocolate are very good. The service and ambience is good. I have tried a waffle, lovely, and the porridge which was served too cold. I should have complained. Anyway, I won't be having that again. The luxury hot chocolate comes with...More

I've visited Rumseys several times before as I used to live in Thame and it's a nice place to meet for coffee and cake, especially on a Sunday when you want to get out of the cold. My only criticism would be the price of...More

A couple of visits in the last week. Service is very good and friendly. Delicious sandwiches and cakes with a good selection of hot and cold drinks available. The food arrived very promptly too.

I regularly visit here. I like the music they play. They make a good bacon sandwich and I'm addicted to their Mocha! It would be even better if they had more sofa's.

I was quite disappointed with the cakes here. For a chocolate shop I was expecting a brilliant chocolate cake but it was very average. I got some shortbread to take away and again found it to be average.

I have visited here a few times and always find staff very welcoming and the cakes on offer are amazing. As all the chocolate is made in-house, it is nice that they give you some with coffee and other hot drinks. Will definitely keep returning...More

The chocolate is made on site, so they give you a little piece of chocolate with everything - nice touch. It's a classic old tea shop, with old fashioned decor, old music playing etc. I enjoyed the Cottage Pie - however be warned, it is...More

Description
Situated in a beautiful Georgian building in the Upper High Street of this historic market town on the edge of Bucks and Oxon, our Thame shop offers plentiful seating, free WiFi, comfy sofas, window seating with a view of the town and a lovely mini-mezzanine which can be used for meetings, groups and parties. Relax and enjoy breakfast, lunch and coffee in comfortable surroundings or select from our wonderful take away menu at any time of the day. Nigel Rumsey's thirty years experience as a Chef and Patissier provided the inspiration and depth of knowledge needed to become a Master Chocolatier of distinction. Nigel and his wife, Mary, opened Rumsey's after being inspired by the film 'Chocolat', their aim was to provide a wonderful sumptuous environment in which to sit, eat lunch, drink coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
