I don't normally write reviews but thought this charming and wonderful place deserved one. Every time I visit from London the food never fails, whether it be breakfast or lunch. I am also sorry to hear about Imogen, she is sadly missed by so many. I hope the standards continue and thank you to all the team who always a... More

We have been coming to Langar Hall for nearly thirty years. This was our first opportunity since losing our dear friend Imogen and it was great to see her granddaughter Lila and her team still keeping the flag flying. In fact, since Imogen had a habit of 'stirring things up' (her words) if service was running too smoothly, if anything... More

The atmosphere was excellent, the food was delicious and the service was very good. We were dining with a friend who eats out in london 5 times a week and he was also very impressed. The attention to detail was good and the price of very good wine was so reasonable. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

This is the second time I've been to Langar for lunch and for the second time it was excellent with Attentive and friendly staff. Not the most extensive of menus but one those where you could happily eat anything on it. I'm not a huge dessert fan but the rhubarb soufflé is definitely worth a try.

Had lunch here with a business colleague - the service and food were excellent, it just lacked a little atmosphere. I think dinner would be better. The service was unobtrusive but timely and the food clearly freshly prepared and super. reasonably expensive but not unduly so. The location is super.

We chose Langar Hall for our works Christmas lunch for me and my wife and we really enjoyed everything about it! We've done similar at Hambleton Hall in previous years and whilst Langar's grounds, building and interior decor isn't quite at the standard of Hambleton, there food and service certainly is. We didn't actually choose the traditional turkey main course,... More

Myself and 6 friends had lunch at the beautiful Langar Hall to celebrate the festive season. I have visited Langar many times, I even had my wedding reception there back in 2000. I can quite honestly say that this was the best meal we have had there. The welcome was warm, as always and we enjoyed pre-lunch drinks in the... More

Lunch time on a Saturday with friends. Lovely place, staff welcoming. There were not enough staff on duty to have someone to be able to call when something was needed. At one point I went in search fro more bread to find no-one around and certainly wasn't going to go to reception. Same happened again at a later stage, Was... More

I am sorry you left feeling disappointed. Unexpectedly we were were one man short last Saturday and as a team we agree the service did suffer. I have discussed your comments on the food with the chefs. We have always served traditional roast turkey in December on one plate, All i can do is apologise that this style of serving... More

Just excellent service, beautifully prepared dishes . Brilliant value. The conservatory has just a few tables, which makes dining an intimate experience.

We went for dinner as a Birthday treat and was not disappointed. The food is simply wonderful, we had chicken liver parfait and lobster ravioli for starters, roast hake and calves liver for mains and for dessert, bitter chocolate for my Husband and I had the Wild damson souffle - they were all truly amazing in taste and presentation. Service... More

Description
Just a short hop from the non-stop of Nottingham, Langar Hall is a million miles from the citys buzz. Set in a small country hotel, it combines an historic atmosphere with sophisticated dcor and delicious fine dining. Popular with locals and visitors, Langar Halls intimate dining room has a classic sophistication, with white tablecloths and gleaming tableware, which makes every meal feel like a special occasion. The menu is equally simple and classic, reflecting the English country house style in the use of local ingredients, including a good line in meats and cheeses from nearby farms the true taste of Nottinghamshire couldnt be further from mushy peas and mint sauce.
