I went to the castle with my friends for a catch up, the food was amazing, because of the head chef. However later that night I went to pay my tab and the manager dragged me in screaming at me after throwing a glass at my friends face!

If you want a really warm welcome and a lovely atmosphere in this small but roomy hotel, make a detour and go to Otterburn.

We had pate and pannacotte for entree. Ok but nothing special. Lamb and salmon for main were delicious. Lamb was pink and moist and the salmon had lovely crispy skin and moist and tasty. 3 cheese platter for dessert.

The food is absolutely fantastic!! Pate, garlic mushrooms, lamb for both of us and breakfast the next morning were all 5* not forgetting the service, second to none. Couldn't do enough. Lovely to see friendly helpful staff in a gorgeous setting as well. It's hard to find both at same time. Staff are a credit to the castle.

Great hotel. Staff were very helpful and kind. They really tried. Castle very quirky and service not as polished as could be but I kind of liked that and found the experience very endearing. Lots of places to visit in the surrounding area. Adjourning bistro/pub lovely. Food very good at the hotel. Had a fabulous couple of nights stay.

Opening night at Otterburn Castle (formerly Otterburn Towers) newly refurbished public bar was a night to remember. Spectacular firework display followed by a great performance by local celebrity band Takahad. A joyful experience which slowly diminished as the evening progressed. Bar staff were drinking behind the bar and became progressively aggressive throughout the evening to the point of rudeness. When... More

We had a wonderful evening here (now renamed Otterburn Castle Hotel & Restaurant). A great choice if you are ok with a relatively small menu of traditional dishes done very well (about 5 options per course). We had pork belly which was delicious, and there were some very interesting wines available. The dining room is lovely and intimate with oak... More
