While there are national chain coffee shops on the high street its worth finding this little gem of a coffee shop/tea room just opposite the Chantry museum. Quite compact the pleasant helpful staff provide a range of delicious sweet and savoury meals and good range of hot drinks. Gets busy but worth waiting for a table or pop across to... More

My review is based, not on a visit to the Chantry, but on it's excellent customer service when I wanted to buy a gift token for a wedding present for friends. Whilst they couldn't take payment directly over the phone, Hayley very kindly sorted it all out for me, rang me back to confirm, and then got the voucher to... More

Lovely tea room which serves the best cup of tea ever. I often go for tea and a scone or for lunch with friends. It is everything a tea room should be. Bright, spotless, warm and friendly. It serves lovely tea and coffee and I can highly recommend the scones, cakes, soups and sandwiches. A little oasis away just off... More

Just called in to this handy tea room for a drink, but we ( soft Southerners!) were amazed by the clever tea filter with delicious orange tea. Wish we had stayed for lunch though as everything looked delicious and the customers were cheerful and friendly.

Called in at random for lunch whilst visiting Morpeth. What a little gem. Good variety of homemade food in a homely setting with quick and friendly service. Only slight drawback is the lack of toilet facilities, but don't let this put you off - well worth visiting.

We visited today for an impromptu lunch and couldn't have asked for a better welcome or a better lunch. I had the hot baguette with ham & cheese ( and extra coleslaw- my husband had a tuna sandwich and my mother in law had a scone with jam. I think all we left behind was a big of a mess... More

We stopped off in Morpeth on our way to our holiday cottage in Bamburgh. We stumbled across this tea room and decided to stop for lunch and so glad we did. I just had a scone (cheese & herb), which was delicious and my husband had a BLT sandwich, which he said was lovely too. This was all washed down... More

Whether you visit for morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea this little cafe never disappoints. Beautifully prepared and presented home cooked dishes and cakes, lovely staff and rasonable prices make this a winner every time. Be prepared to wait for a table if they're busy because it's worth it.

Visited a week ago for late lunch and it was superb. Very friendly staff. Excellent menu. Best scone I have ever tasted, particularly as it was served warm and cream had been whipped just before serving. Highly recommend this tea room if you are in Morpeth.

Thank Graham G
